He came out and we knew he was cool. Went thru his weird teenage phase but then got it back together.

Fingers crossed his momma gives us a daughter on the repeat breed. Because wed sure like to keep her lines around!

Best advise I can give a show stock family for the "off season"?

Shop the sales and stock up. You'd be surprised how many sales are going on in the next month for show supplies.

We’ve missed a couple shows - and we’re skipping this weekend for non-livestock family time, but the boys are doing good this year!

Current points through 5/11/2024 (WCLA Spring Roundup). Keep grinding, see you in the ring this weekend at Coulee Region Showdown and Northern Show Circuit!

We do not have full placing for showmanship at UW-River Falls , therefore no showmanship points have been awarded for this show to any WCLA members. Once we have full showmanship exhibitor list we will update showmanship points for that show.

Our loss, your gain (ya, ya… everyone says that) on late January lambs

Too many ewe lambs and mom can’t count when it comes to wethers.

Ewe Tag 2405: You don’t know her daddy, but we sure do. Dubbed “Monkey” (Crenshaw x JFSS 3036) worked some magic dropping banging ewes. We flipped a coin on her and her twin, and we promise she won’t disappoint - even though she hated the camera. We’ll probably pull her outside this weekend for good pictures. Thicker than a tick and cool in just the right places.

Wether Tag 2414: Mom can’t count and 9 wethers is too many. Definitely your FF type out of “Buckeye” (Rush x Lugnut)with enough muscle to boot. The ba**er found him 04/01, so he’s finally getting back into the grove on creep. Put him in the show ring, run him through the carcass class, either way you spin him, he’ll hold his own.

Real talk:

I don’t know who yet, but both our lambs sold on the sale tonight. To some this might not be a big deal, but to me this was a whole mountain.

Thank you. Sincerely for putting your trust in our small operation.

We watched a bunch of breeders rally to help eachother, and that alone should speak volumes of what the collective is trying to accomplish. When we say we’re here, we all mean we’re here.

There were ALOT of lambs there and we still garnered some sort attention. My hat is off to you.

Hey there!

To be honest, most people don’t know us. We’ve stayed in our lane, and quietly kept improving our foundation. We’re wrapping up our 9th year lambing with every year getting slightly better and steady climbing our way up in classes.

You don’t know our rams either, but once you look at their genetics- they’re pretty cool, and you’ll definitely see who we put our trust in for breeding stock.

So- if you’re in the market…. Peep these.

One wether. Not flashy, but he’ll get big. No problem feeding this one.

And then there’s the ewe lamb.
🤤 Her and her twin trade places every time we look at them - but we felt she was our best foot forward to put our names out there for breeding stock sales. She’s starting to crack out of this weird green phase they sit in, and we promise she’s only getting better.

Why we never did it before?

Three different grains in the creep pen:

Soybean meal
Formula of Champions Cherry Krave (mini pellet)
Formula of Champions Power Take Off (textured)

(And alfalfa)

We’re seeing bigger gains with them having the ability to pick what they like. And we like that!

Lambs might be younger and green, but they're definitely worth the stop while you're in the area. They're starting to pound on the creep, so it's just a matter of time.

Honestly we just love the babies.

Maybe you remember Bree (Popcorn x Gustavo/MacFlurry/38Special)? A pretty little JFSS ewe that the boys purchased, showed, and showed and showed. She’s finally a Momma, now that she’s chewed off her leg wool (and complained about not being on show feed).

Today’s cold front brought out the new Sweet RelieFF babies and we couldn’t be more excited.

Also…. Can be talk about the fuzz?? 🤤

Hello All!

Just a little heads up:

We will NOT be raising any chickens or turkeys for processing this year. With the steady price increases in feed, chicks, and everything in general, we decided it is best to not add to our list. We understand this is an inconvenience for some, and we apologize for that. We do have a list of other producers that are offering these items if you need direction.

HOWEVER, we'll be posting about a new item that we are offering tonight....directed at our "show" sheep customers! (HINT HINT ~ who doesn't love a Chewbacca legged lamb?!?!)

Winter mess is cleaned out and pens put back together. Ewes to cull have been picked out and we’re already setting the calendar to turn out rams this summer.

Lambs are starting to go to their new homes and we are so excited for that!!!

Super excited what this year brought us and the future is looking bright!

A little hard to see…But I’m too excited to wait!

Far pen on the right. Moved her in last night. And she lambed! I don’t even what she had yet lmao. (Hoping for a ewe lamb lol)

We had a good lambing, and I’m grateful for that!
