As many of you know we have weekly staff meetings for team education. After learning about blood today the team had their own version of the Olympics. They competed in multiple events including speed putting e-collars together, catching pom-pom's in the e-collar while wearing it, speed putting caskets together, and dexterity tasks including moving m & m's with a straw, cat gloves, and mittens. We hope you enjoy some pictures and video of our shenanigans today. We also want to thank our clients for being understanding and allowing us to take the time during lunch to learn (and have a little fun). (Videos to follow)

Is your pet scared of fireworks or thunderstorms? Do they need medications to keep calm during fireworks or thunderstorms? If so please remember that you have two more days to get any refills needed prior to the holiday. If your pet has high anxiety during fireworks or thunderstorms please reach out to us so we can help them enjoy the holiday rather than stress over the holiday.

The summer heat is here making it super important to be sure that our are safe and cool in the warmer temperatures. Some pets (especially those with short faces) get over headed VERY easily. This can quickly become an emergency situation. Here are some tips for keeping your pet safe in the heat.

Boarder Shout Out! Tyson is a cuddly, loveable boy. He always has a lot to tell us when he is staying with us. You can always find him napping in a cat tree or in the window. He loves to play with the toys. If he is not napping in the cat tree he wants all the scratches and cuddles he can get.

Did you know that on a 90 degree day the concrete warms up to at least 100 degrees! The blacktop (asphalt) gets even hotter at almost 121 degrees!! Keep this in mind as the temperatures start rising when planning walks with your pet. Be sure to be taking the appropriate precautions when taking your dog for their daily "walkies" this summer. If you have questions feel free to reach out to our team they would be more than happy to help you keep your dog safe this summer.

Water Wednesday!!! This is one of the staff (and the pets) favorite days of the week. Everyone has such a good time playing in the water! Oakley, Olive, and Bell channeled their lab love of water and had a BLAST playing with the team today. Does your dog love the water? If so we would love to spend the day with them playing in the pool and sprinklers. Call us to find out more information about Water Wednesday or any of our boarding/bathing offerings.

We are VERY excited to welcome Dr. Kimberly Yeager to the team at East Coweta Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Yeager is a graduate of the University of California at Davis (UCD) School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up working in her father's veterinary clinic which helped her to develop an early love of both animals and science. According to Dr. Yeager the most rewarding part of being a veterinarian is the incredible human-animal bond. She has special interest in treating disease of the skin and ear as well as internal medicine. Pictured with Dr. Yeager are her two furry mutts Jack and Luna.

In order for our staff to continue to offer quality care for both our clients and their pets we will be closing during lunch on Monday's for staff training/education. This will be from 12 to 1:30 on Monday's starting Monday 5/20.

We have exciting news! Starting Tuesday May 28th we will be starting back with our weekly Water Wednesday's. If your dog likes playing in the pool, sprinkler, hose, etc. than water Wednesday is right up their alley. Our team sets up pools and sprinklers for the pets to play in (individually with our team members). We do require that pets coming for water Wednesday are up to date on all of their vaccinations.
