It’s with extreme sadness that we lost Police Service Dog Spike (Retired).

As a former canine officer, a position that I feel was the most rewarding position I ever held.

You truly have to face the day of allowing your partner to calmly “cross the rainbow bridge” without you.

I would like to tell you that day and those memories throughout your career will soon be forgotten, however I can’t. I can tell you that those thoughts come out of nowhere and you just have to appreciate those memories through happy tears and not sadness…

Rest In Peace Spike, run free Nephew!

Spike, thank you for all of the smiles and happiness you brought to our family. Thank you for the amazing years we all had with you. I have no words to say how thankful I am for having you as my partner, for all you taught me, not only doing the job but about life in general. You truly are one of a kind. I wish yesterday would never had to have happened buddy but now you are pain free and hanging with Grandpa. Your family loves you Spike, until we meet again ❤️

K9 Spike 15 years old
DOB 10/16/09- EOW 12/28/24 Born in Holland; Just over a year and a half old he arrived in the United States to report for duty at Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. August 2011, K9 Spike was partnered with Port Clinton Police Officer K9 Handler Joshua Nelson. After 6 weeks of training K9 Spike reported for duty for The Port Clinton Police Department. He spent 10 years and 8 months serving the City of Port Clinton and surrounding counties. Spike enjoyed his last couple years of retirement at home with his family chewing on his Kongs and squeaky balls. Spike passed away in the loving arms of his family. Dad, Mom, brothers Andrew and Griffin. Spike has crossed the rainbow bridge and is enjoying his very best life again with all the squeaky balls he wants. He will be greatly missed and our hearts will never be the same. FREE DOG, SPIKE

K9 Duke at it again!!!

Last night evening shift was alerted to a stolen vehicle pursuit approaching the Connecticut State line from Massachusetts agencies. Enfield officers located the stolen vehicle continuing to travel south on Interstate 91. The operator of the vehicle failed to obey an officers signals to stop fleeing south. Officer utilized a Stinger tire deflation device which disabled the stolen vehicle just south of exit 47e. The operator fled the vehicle on foot attempting to get over the guard rail to a wooded area, but wasn’t fast enough. K9 Duke was deployed and apprehended the suspect preventing his escape. Officers were able to place the operator in custody after the apprehension. @
