DOG FOSTERS NEEDED!!

What makes MADACC different?

1. Any dog that has been available for adoption for 14 days is eligible for foster! We also have dogs with medical needs (most often weight gain, awaiting surgery or mange) that could use a soft spot to rest and recover!

2. You choose how long you want to foster .. a day trip out on the town, a weekend, a week or a month .. any time out of the shelter is invaluable!

3. You can ALWAYS bring a dog back if it’s just not working - planned for a month but an emergency work trip takes you out of town for a few days? No worries - drop em off at MADACC and scoop ‘em back up when you get home!

4. Onsite vet staff - questions can be answered quickly and appointments are easy peasy!

And just like other rescues, everything you need to succeed is provided by MADACC and Friends of MADACC!

Magenta: transferring from Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) tomorrow. She’s reported to be shy at first but once warmed up her personality ✨ shines. She’s calm, gentle and very sweet. She loves all the pampering she can get- whether it be walks, car rides, treats, or just some quiet snuggle time.

We’re excited to share that Staff of Life in Shawano has generously sponsored one of our kennels for 2026! 🐾💙

They have always been incredible supporters of the Shawano County Humane Society, and once again, they’ve stepped up to help us provide safe, comfortable spaces for animals waiting for their forever homes.

UPDATE - Datta and Sloth were adopted today (11/19)

💛 DOUBLE TROUBLE? More like double CUTENESS.
Datta & Sloth are 5-month-old bonded brothers whose favorite hobby is accidentally matching each other’s every move. If one wiggles, the other wiggles. If one pounces, the other pounces. If one blink—well, you get it. 😹💕

They’re playful, sweet, silly, and totally obsessed with doing life side-by-side.
Now they just need a family who’s ready for two little shadows following each other around forever. 💛

UPDATE- both puppies have found forever homes!

This shepherd mix puppy needs a home ASAP! He and his sister suffered tragically lost their mother, who was unfortunately hit by a car. He is approximately 7 weeks old. These pups can go home at 8 weeks old. Please call or stop in at the shelter if you're interested!
