On a sad day
What is it about dogs that makes them man’s best friend? Let me tell you the ways….
She was always happy to see me, every day several times a day, with a toy in her mouth and her entire body wagging. Oftentimes she would whine with excitement, so happy to see me. She was so darn silly and always made us laugh, when she missed the popcorn tossed to her every time, when she chewed her squeaky ball over and over and over, when she drug around a towel with the water bowl on it, when she laid on her back and bicycled her legs in the air, when she bulldozed through the dining room chairs. So silly. She would talk to us, bark to go out and to come back in. She would listen and know exactly what I was telling her. She would rest her head on my wheelchair even though it had to have been uncomfortable. She was obedient except when grandma came over because she knew grandma would get her a treat. She loved to be with us. Don’t tell the others but she was definitely the best dog we’ve ever had. We will miss you sweet silly pretty Annie. It’s a sad day indeed.
