Meet Piña! 🐾❤️

Piña is an 8-year-old Shar-Pei/American Bulldog mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. She’s been a beloved companion her whole life, but due to changes in her family’s living situation, she now finds herself looking for a new home to love.

This gentle gal adores people and is wonderful with kids and other dogs. She’s more of a couch potato than a marathon runner, happiest when snuggled up with her humans or relaxing in the yard. Piña loves being outdoors, so a fenced-in yard where she can safely explore would be ideal. She knows her name and comes when called, and since her former home was Spanish-speaking, she may even respond to Spanish commands!

Piña does have some kennel anxiety in the shelter, so a sturdy crate and lots of love will help her feel secure in a new home. On walks, she does best with a front-clip harness to help with her gentle pulling, and she enjoys strolling at a steady, relaxed pace.

After losing both her lifelong home and her canine companion, Piña is ready for a soft landing — a family who will give her the stability, comfort, and love she deserves. If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate, and loyal friend, Piña is waiting to meet you at Melissa's Second Chances.

Vixen is a beautiful black-and-brown senior gal with a confident, independent spirit. She enjoys the company of adults she knows but prefers life on her own terms.

She would do best as the only pet in her home, as she doesn’t enjoy the company of other cats. Vixen also prefers an adult-only environment, though her curiosity occasionally shines through when she cautiously investigates a dropped snack.

Her favorite places are quiet, cozy spots like a side-table cat bed or a tucked-away nook where she can relax undisturbed. She values having her own space and appreciates mealtimes without interruption.

Vixen is looking for a calm, adult-only home where she can feel safe, respected, and loved for exactly who she is — an independent cat with a touch of sass and plenty of heart. 🖤
