🐾 🌹 Meet Rose! 🌹, Our Featured Pet of the Week! 🐾
Thursday morning, we shared Rose’s story during our weekly radio spots on 's Country B93 and WHBL 1330 and 101.5 News, Talk, Sports.

Hey there, Rose lovers! This sweet, smart, and snuggly beauty is on the hunt for a forever home!

Her story? Rose was surrendered due to a tough situation—she found little kids a bit overwhelming and her previous family couldn’t keep her. But she hasn’t lost her loving spirit! Rose is wonderful with people and needs a calm home with older, respectful kids.

A couple of important things to know:
🐾 No other dogs or cats, please! Rose prefers all the love to herself.
🐾 She recently had surgery for a torn ACL (thanks to a generous donor!). Managing her weight is key to keeping her healthy.

This 61.8 lb, tan-and-white, 4-year-old darling walks beautifully on a leash and will be your best cuddle buddy. She’s ready to fill your life with joy and unconditional love!

Think you’re the one for Rose? Come meet her at the shelter—you just might find your new best friend! 🐶❤️

🚨Update 1-15-2025🚨
🚨 Emergency Intake: Help Us Support Cats Affected by a House Fire 🚨

Today, we had an additional intake of two more cats from the fire on Sunday night. HSSC has now welcomed 12 cats and kittens who were displaced by this devastating event. Some of these cats require medical treatments to recover and heal.

With our current cat population already at 137, this unexpected intake places an even greater financial responsibility on our organization.

Your support can make a difference! If you’re able to help, please consider making a donation to assist with their care. Visit our website to contribute: https://adoptsheboygancounty.org/donate

Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Together, we can provide these cats with the care they need and deserve. 💕🐾

❤HAPPILY EVER AFTER❤
Happy Adoption Day, Marty and McChicken!!!!! I can't believe it's been a year already!

Marty is very sweet and snuggly, and a master of making biscuits! He's also somewhat clingy and will literally force you to pet him! 🥰 McChicken is sweet and cuddly as well, but he is also the trouble maker! 😆 He's always doing something silly, or getting into something!

I never thought I could move on after losing my sweet Milo, but these boys have helped heal our hearts, and they have brought SO much joy to our home!! ❤️❤

Hi, I’m Pork Chop, and I really need your help!

Five months. That’s how long I’ve been homeless. Five months of sadness. Five months of anxiety. Five months of longing for a family again. I’ll be honest with you—I’m really struggling. The stress of living in a kennel is wearing me down. Being around so many other dogs, all in the same position as me—homeless—is overwhelming.

I was fortunate to spend some time in a foster home, and I thrived there! Unfortunately, it was only temporary, and now I’m back at the shelter, anxiously waiting for my forever family to find me.

I was surrendered last August by the only family I had ever known because I didn’t get along with the other dog in the house. I admit I was a bit overprotective. But when I love my people, I really love my people! That kind of loyalty has to be what someone out there is looking for in a canine friend.

I’m just under two years old, with a perfect, low-rider build! I’m high-energy, but after a good walk or some playtime in the yard, I’ll happily melt into your lap and snooze on the couch for the rest of the evening. And when I’m in the mood, I’m the best cuddler!

Because I’m strong and sturdy, my ideal person will need to handle me when I pull on the leash. I do have some anxiety and allergies that need management, but don’t let that scare you! With the right TLC and proper vet care, it’s very manageable.

The biggest requirement for my future home is that I need to be your only furry friend—no other dogs or cats, please. I promise to give you all the love and companionship you could ever want! I’m okay with children, and I’m mostly gentle with them, so human brothers and sisters would be fine as long as they’re good with a high-energy pup like me.

All I need is a home where I’m understood, where people will be patient with me and won’t give up on me.

Right now, I’m staying in a quieter room to help keep me calm while I wait for my forever family. Can’t commit to adoption? That’s okay! I would benefit from a foster family, too. If you’re interested in meeting me to foster or, even better, adopt, please come to the shelter. Maybe you’ll be the one to save me from shelter life for good!

Experienced Home Needed for Billy!
Hey there! I’m Billy, and this message is for all you experienced hound lovers!

I came to the shelter as a stray back in October, and since then, my anxiety has been growing. I’ve only had one meet-and-greet—just one! Why? Well, it might be because of my “kennel presence.” I tend to bark a lot when people walk by, but can you blame me? It’s hard watching person after person pass by without even a second glance.

Another reason might be that I need to be the only animal in my future home. My hound instincts are strong, so living with cats or small critters isn’t a good idea. Dogs also make me anxious, so I’d prefer to have my space and my people all to myself.

Lastly, I really need an experienced and confident dog owner. Wherever I came from, someone must have worked with me because I’m super smart! Give me a task and let me use my nose, and I’ll stay focused for hours. Need a hunting buddy? I’m in! Looking for a farm dog to keep watch over your land? I’m your guy! Hiking partner? Count me in!

My dream home would be with someone who’s experienced and willing to challenge both my body and my mind. A quieter, rural home with fewer visitors would be perfect. A dog- and cat-free environment is a must, and I’d do best with older kids.

Shelter life is tough on me. Day after day in a kennel has made me unruly, jumpy, and mouthy—classic signs of anxiety. But once I’ve burned off my energy, I relax and show my affectionate, true self—the real Billy.

I just need someone willing to bring out the best in me. Could that be you? Come meet me at the shelter and find out if we’re a perfect match!
