Trading with a Dog
I forgot to pick up a bone that was on the floor in the home.
This bone I don't want it outdoors, even though Roxy is enjoying it.
A tip to prevent resource guarding. Always trade with the dog. Grabbing objects from a dog, can lead to a behavior problem.
Happy Training!

A dog in learning
The dog here, struggles with new environments. I always look at the dog in front me. I understand the environment is powerful.
I know she is food motivated. I choose to use rapid fire with the treats. reinforcing the behavior of staying down.
Once she is in a down, I an silent and feeding the behavior, just the sound of my voice changes the environment.

Now is the time to schedule your dog training needs.
As I continue to train Georgia Peach π for loose leash walking. I noticed when I stepped out into a different environment she was very alert. She wants to pull and there are many reasons a dog π will pull. I have added information into my new online course Walking In Balance. I will launch it sometime in August.
Train your dog π when they are hungry or half full. In this set up with Georgia Peach π I'm using her meal for the reward. Training the dog from her bowl.
Why I did this, is because I noticed how alert she was when I take her into a different environment. I want her to be engaged in the training.
People can become discouraged and often it's about breaking the training down into smaller pieces.
If you are committed to learning more about positive reinforcement training, schedule with me soon.
Train with no pain! I always use a harness, leash and food. Toys and praise are used also.

Do you ever? Notice those moments of such good behavior? I do!
Many times I hear about the dog barking. π Barking is a communication and there is 6 types of barking. That I know of today. The dog is barking or doing something π€ a guardian doesn't like. I know from experience there really are good moments that get overlooked.
It's easy to find what may seem to be an annoyance. The dog does this, all the time. I'm going to flip the table and ask you to find the good moments. I can find those moments. Oh, look the dog is relaxing and there are no barks or guarding of property.
Every dog has instincts and genetics. I was recently listening to a dog trainer that loves Livestock Guarding Breeds. I had to listen because it peaked my interest. I love learning and growing as an individual. I've worked with a few and they are so interesting. This trainer knew the breed and did not live on a farm for the dog to guard. She trained her dog to guard the birds around the bird feeder. π¦ Giving the dog a job!
Anyone that has actually worked with me, knows I look at the dog in front of me. The dog in the video, I've learned as I trained her. Her instincts is to guard the property. I step in front of her when she goes barking. I tell her " I Got This" I relieve her from what she feels (genetics) is her duty.
If you are ready to learn from me. Schedule an appointment.

Sophie is coming along with her loose leash walking. She goes home tomorrow.
I've set up sessions in my backyard and today I stepped out into a different environment. Just as we start up the session there were sirens π¨ close. I worked through this with her.
She was very alert from the sound in the environment.
I've used a clicker and treats in her training.
She is responding well as we work together in balance.
Tomorrow I will transfer the training over to her family.
Dogs can pull for many reasons.

Sophie went through the tunnel today. She is having fun and learning during her stay.
She is an 8-month-old Golden Retriever.
Having a good experience at Mecca's All Breed Dog Training, LLC
The Golden Retriever was bred to work alongside the human.
Today is more with Sophie on "Check In" as I mark and reward, when she looks at me, moves toward me and along side me.

Sophie is here to learn. She was reluctant at first to get into this big blue object. She walked around it, but would not take that step in. I continued to toss treats in the pool.
Forcing a dog is not a way to train. Dogs can think and learn.

Sophie currently in my training program. A Golden Retriever 8-months-old.
This was the second time a train went by. I observed her movements. She had a large circle movement after backing away. Then she stood and her head moved side to side.
She never headed toward the house, which is good.
Using positive reinforcement with Sophie an 8-month-old Golden Retriever.
In my training program for three days. I have put a harness on her, this gives her more movement and prevents pain in the neck area.

A New Sound
A new sound in the environment.
Dog to Dog Meet
Introducing dogs to each other. I do this in steps. You will notice the female Brindle dog π was sniffing, but just a little longer. I was about to interrupt, because dogs only need a few seconds to learn more about a dog.
This ended well without interruption.
Dogs communicate through body language. I'm observing their body language during their introduction.
This ended with shake-offs as they both relieve themselves from arousal.
A person can train their dog to shake - off on cue.
I allowed the two a 30 minute playtime. As I supervised and observed their body language.
Happy Training !

Walk & Train
Walk & Train is a service I offer. Here I explain more about the service.
Some breed of dogs were selectively bred to work out and away from a human. Gun Dogs are a good example. Years ago I had a German Short-haired Pointer and that dog taught me a lot. His name was Hollywood and he passed at the age of 13.
By talking here, I hope this gives a better explanation of my Walk & Train service.

Every Dog is an Individual
Dogs are learning 24/7 I always work with the dog in front me. I find out, what the dog likes. π
Does this dog like working close to the human? If not I find out what the dog does like.
I go above and beyond training.

Georgia Peach in Training
Georgia Peach π learning more skills. The more I do with her, this will strengthen the behavior.
When dogs are just learning, give the dog a moment to process the cue too.

Sniffing
Before it gets too hot out, I allow the dog to sniff. I use half of the kibble from the bowl and scatter it in a small area. Dogs should be allowed to sniff on walks also.
Domesticated pets are captive and it's our responsibility to provide exercise, mind stimulation and enrichment.
Dogs need plenty of rest too.
Enjoy your day! πΎ πΎ

The Environment Change with a Dog
Environment changes does have an affect on dogs.
This dog π was on the streets of Milwaukee, think about an animal surviving a big city with lots of people, cars, sights, sounds and concrete with large buildings.
As I look into the L.E.G.S of this dog, the dog I'm working with. I'm going to learn more about her.
I stepped out of a low distraction area, she changes. This is when I know, I need to take it slow with her. I will show her, I got this and be a pilot.
Dogs can learn without pain. I use proven techniques and up to date methods.
