Chicken and Nugget came in today because they were found playing with a bat in their house. They never go outside but luckily they had already been vaccinated for rabies. Bats are the most common source of Rabies in Michigan. The bat escaped so it couldn’t be tested. The protocol for vaccinated cats is to booster the rabies vaccine and monitor for illness for 45 days.
