Hope’s Chest Inc. Hope’s Chest was created soon after Hope Animal Hospital opened in July 2009. It was heaven sent. Hope’s Chest, Inc.
is a non-profit organization in Cleveland County, N.C., that provides a range of critically important veterinary and related services for animals referred by Cleveland County Animal Control. Our wonderful clients began our efforts by donating their pet’s medications to Dr. Lawrence to “pay it forward.” Their generosity to help other animals after losing their own pet was astonishing. Dr. Lawrence
began helping animals at our local humane society shelter (Cleveland County Humane Society), hurt or injured animals at Cleveland County Animal Control’s shelter, and several animals that came into her hospital that had no one to take care of them. Since 2009, Dr. Lawrence has been able to collect and use medications and donated bedding and supplies to help animals in need. And it has been an amazing success…over 1000 animals have received veterinary care!! became a 501c3 non-profit organization in 2015. This is our mission: "Hope’s Chest Inc. These services include surgery and other medical care, fostering and adoption, educational programs and community outreach." We are all VERY excited that God has given us this opportunity to give to those animals that need our help. Dr. Lawrence came up our tag line…“Pawsitively Paying It Forward” …this sums up Hope’s Chest!!

Brrrr! How cold is TOO cold for pets? ❄️🐾
Winter temps can be dangerous for our furry friends! 🐶🐱 Keep an eye on the thermometer and remember:
🌡️ Above 45°F – Most pets are safe!
❄️ 32°F – 20°F – Small, short-haired, or senior pets may need extra protection.
🥶 Below 20°F – Limit outdoor time for all pets.
🚨 Below 10°F – Frostbite & hypothermia risk! Keep pets indoors.
If it’s too cold for you, it’s probably too cold for them! Stay warm & keep them cozy. 💟

He was brought into medical care at Hope Chest Inc, an animal rescue organization that works tirelessly to help animals in need of medical attention from Cleveland County animal control.

Break TIme with Leroy
Leroy also has his employees trained to give him a hot stone massage during breaktime.
Remember Ralphie. This 2 year old, is still in need of a home to call his own. Ralphie came to rescue as a cruelty case... Sigh. He is believed to be a Rottweiler mix or Labrador mixed with something else. Feel free to speculate.
Ralphie adores his people and is a joy to have around. We do believe he is a tad too big for smaller children, and recommend a home for Ralphie with kids over 10 unless your child is a future linebacker.
Ralphie is untrustworthy off leash and requires a securely fenced yard. He would do ok with another dog friend but needs a meet and greet to be sure. He needs a home that is free of cats and small woodland creatures.
Ralphie is currently still be housed at the hospital. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email [email protected] for more information about this amazing dog.
Captain says TGIF everyone.
Captain is still available for adoption/foster and would very much like to find a family willing to play with him.
Captain is a young man and is still learning the rules bearing this in mind we feel a more experienced dog owner maybe best for him. Captain loves other dogs, but has a little to much energy for a cat to enjoy his presents just yet.

Could your life use some enthusiasm? Meet Ellie Mae- the happiest girl! Despite her past neglect, Ellie brings joy and love to everything she experiences. She is obsessed with walks and toys and laying on couches. She loves spending time with her people and gives lots of kisses to show her appreciation! She is a quick learner and has already mastered potty and kennel training as well as “no ma’am” and “down”. She plays well with large and small dogs and has no signs of toy or food aggression. Ellie loves snuggles but would do best in a home without small children as she sees herself as a lapdog. She would make an excellent walking, hiking, or running partner !

Hope’s Chest medical fund was created soon after Hope Animal Hospital opened in July 2009. Our wonderful clients began our efforts by donating their pet’s medications to Dr. Moseley Lawrence to “pay it forward.” Their generosity to help other animals after losing their own pet was astonishing. It was heaven sent.
Dr. Moseley Lawrence began helping animals at our local humane society shelter (Cleveland County Humane Society), hurt or injured animals at Cleveland County Animal Control’s shelter, and several animals that came into her hospital that had no one to take care of them. Over the last 7 years, Dr. Moseley Lawrence has been able to collect and use medications and donated bedding and supplies to help animals in need. And it has been an amazing 10 years… over 1000 animals have received veterinary care!!
In October 2013, Hope’s Chest Inc became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Because of its continued growth and support, the medical fund now focuses more on the hurt and injured strays/abandoned animals referred by the Cleveland County Animal Control. Hope’s Chest is a very unique organization. We are focused on providing medical and surgical care for our county’s shelter animals that need more specialized care. But we also want to help educate our community. Our mission statement better defines who we are and what we do:
“Hope’s Chest Inc. is a non-profit organization in Cleveland County, N.C., that provides a range of critically important veterinary and related services for animals referred by Cleveland County Animal Control. These services include surgery and other medical care, fostering and adoption, educational programs and community outreach.”
Hope’s Chest’s Board of Directors and Volunteers thank you for your support. We hope to continue “Pawsitively Paying It Forward”!!
Would you like to meet one of our beautiful Hope’s Chest adoptable pets or become more involved with Hope’s Chest as a volunteer? Please call 704-297-5123 and leave us a message.
We would love to set up a “meet and greet” or give you more information.
