(26)

We are dedicated to providing the finest quality lineman tools, lineman equipment and other utility supplies available and extending to our customers the personal touch that is synonymous with quality. As we broadened our product line of occupational protective equipment and related tools we also had to expand. In October 1984, American Safety was relocated to a larger facility in Shelby, NC. In 1

991, we had grown too large for the facility we were in and the current corporate headquarters was built. The building consists of 40,000 square feet and over 30 employees. American Safety ships products all around the United States and the world. American Safety has a certified NAIL for PET (North American Independent Laboratories for Protective Equipment Testing) rubber goods testing lab. American Safety has one of the quickest turnarounds of rubber goods testing which, in most cases, is ten days. Each rubber good that is tested is washed, tested, hand and visually inspected and dated. Each employee of American Safety puts pride in their work and the safety of our clients is the first and foremost most important goal. American Safety has an in-house repair facility that also builds jumpers and grounds and tests and certifies hotsticks and shotgun sticks. American Safety's certified repair specialists are able to repair Streamlight rechargeable lights, Burndy products, Greenlee/Fairmont products, hoists, hydraulic tools, fiberglass sticks and poles, collapsible reels and much more. We are able to re-certify many products; hoists, grounds & jumpers, and hotsticks. American Safety builds custom jumpers and grounds. We have a wide variety of heads and cables to choose from. Next day and two day services are available.

Since it’s National Lineman Appreciation Day, we wanted to remind you of some everyday things you should thank a Lineman for.

When you get home at night and hit the lightswitch, do your lights turn on?

If you have an electric water heater, when you get in the shower do you have hot water?

Does your microwave heat the leftovers that your refrigerator keeps cool?

Do your outlets charge your phone or computer or tablet?

Do you watch the news on your television in the morning?

Do you have a nightlight or a noose machine that helps you or your kids to sleep at night?

Do you use a computer to do work either in an office or at home?

In the summer does your air conditioning keep you and your house comfortable and cool?

In the winter does your heat keep you warm?

Do you use a washing machine and a dryer to clean your clothes and bedding? Or a dishwasher to clean your dishes?

If you answered yes to any of these, you owe their use to a lineman. Not for the products themselves, no. But for the power and electricity they all rely on to work. Without linemen, all these items we use everyday that plug into the wall or rely on electricity would be nothing more than decor or random paperweights. The modern world relies on Linemen, not just in a storm or after, but every single day.

So to all the linemen out there, thank you.
