Eugene animal welfare officer (AWO), Ted Carlson, saved the life of a male husky that was locked inside a hot car in a mall parking lot.

Security officers from Valley River Center phoned the police to report a distressed male husky locked inside a black Toyota Prius with all the windows rolled up.

Carlson arrived on the scene and noticed the dog was attempting to get out of the sun.

“The Husky trying to seek shade from the sun curled on the floorboard of the driver seat of the car. The husky also had several drainage tubes protruding from shaved spots on two of its legs from probable surgery,” posted Eugene Police Department.

Yesterday IT happened. What I hoped , I would never have to be prepared to act on. A dog locked in a SUV in the, sun. No air on. Windows down, two inches. I waited a minute. Headed to the store. My phone was dialed to our Sheriff's number. I stood watching for the owner. I had no idea what they looked like. I was timing the locked in dog. As the heat was 100 degrees in the, sun..... or more. I don't break laws, unless saving a life is needed. I stood watching and praying for the dog. A person checked out and went to the SUV. That day........I was not a "criminal". Just writing about this and thinking about the dog, made me sick to my stomach. People don't do this to me and others that LOVE dogs ! We protect life and that, because of your non thinking........could get us deemed a criminal ! Please crate your dog and leave them in the air conditioning of your home, until this heat is no longer classed extreme. Blessing of thinking pet parents, for all pets. Donna

A word of advice. This is very dusty and must be applied low to the ground or floor. It needs to be be gently placed closed to the floor ! Very drying and dusty if you, toss it ! Don't do it this way ! Shaker or puffer bottles can be bought on line. Food grade only to be used in the home. Don't use on a windy day, outside . I gave you warnings as most people are a little too, bold with this product and end up choking because of the dust being inhaled. It has it benefits, if used wisely. Donna

If you have let your fur child stay with me for care, Please leave a review. I existed for so many years because, I relate to dogs and cats, very well. I understand and meet their emotional needs. As well as the pet parents. You need to know how they are doing while, you are gone. Contact relieves, owner anxieties ! Poor animal care from large kennels the stories, I have been told is shameful ! Plus, I have the real knowledge of what really goes on, that is charged as "care". I live here. I can view the dogs at night from my, home. I built my kennel to be one of a kind, with large windows and 6 x 12 rooms and limited the dogs in my care, so they really get care and friendship ! Animals love being accepted by a new and caring friend that brings, real meat treats . I treat train dogs, so leashes are not needed. As soon as they have my training on treats, .......most race ahead of me and put themselves in their rooms ! Their needs are always on my mind and how to make them really, comfortable. One day as a I came in to the house, my three rescues usually come to greet me. That day, they didn't they were staring at the ceiling fan. I stopped to look up, also. A real shocking discovery, I made. I had to work fast to save a tiny life. I knew I could slowly, move this feathered angel to safety. I had the door open , as he went out the door......I was glad the tiny bird flew to safety. As I said, the bird was quite, tiny . I have a Catio at the back of my house. My best guess........the bird entered, that way. I was very happy to help the bird, outside. Never a dull moment ! Donna
