We are a family who use to raise full size dairy goats for over 30 years and then after our children became adults and left, we got out of the dairy goat business and started raising daylillies. For health reasons and economic concerns, we decided to start raising some chickens for eggs and got back into the dairy goats. We decided on the Nigerian Dwarfs because they are easier to handle than the

Saanen, Alpine, Toggenburg, Nubian, & LaManchas that we use to raise. Nigerians only weigh about 65 to 70 pounds full grown and produce an average of 1 1/2 quarts a day. We have found their milk to be delicious and is higher in butterfat (appox 6%) which makes it sweeter tasting. Wethered bucks make ideal pets. We are located in central Illinois in Shelbyville. Our bloodlines are Lost Valley, Buttin Heads, Fairlea & Flat Rock.

Our Story

We are a family who use to raise full size dairy goats for over 30 years (starting in Michigan and then moving to Illinois) and then after our children became adults and left, we got out of the dairy goat business and started raising daylillies. Due to health problems we have cut way back on the daylilies and selling them. For health reasons and economic concerns, we decided to start raising some chickens for eggs and got back into the dairy goats. We decided on the Nigerian Dwarfs because they are easier to handle than the Saanen, Alpine, Toggenburg, Nubian, & LaManchas that we use to raise. Nigerians only weigh about 65 to 70 pounds full grown and produce an average of 1 1/2 quarts a day. We have found their milk to be delicious and is higher in butterfat (appox 6%) which makes it sweeter tasting. We are located in central Illinois in Shelbyville. Our bloodlines are Lost Valley, Jasper Pine, Fairlea & Flat Rock.
