How to properly insulate an outdoor dog house

With the incoming freezing temperatures and inclement weather, it is advised to bring your animals inside. In the unfortunate case that you cannot bring them inside it is imperative to have proper shelter for them in this weather. When preparing shelter for you animals it is important to note that when insulating your dog house/shelter to only use straw and not other materials like hay/blankets/shavings as they will hold moisture and will freeze or become soggy and not insulate. In this video, Animal Control Director Danielle Reynolds demonstrates how to properly prepare and insulate an outdoor dog house.
