After medicated bath #2. Sweet Pea is acting so much better. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Don't despair, we'll get to those nails. She doesn't like having her legs or paws messed with. We want to take things a bit slow and not stress her out.
We named the dumped Pit bull mix, Skully, who was going up to cars on Marietta Road Monday night. We have learned who owned him and hoping he does the right thing and sign him over. Here he is, showing Brynna all of "skills." Skully is about six months old and has a lot of puppy energy. He is scheduled to be neutered so he will be turnkey ready for his loving and forever home. Questions or tips about Skully, call the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter at 317-392-5127 or email me anytime at [email protected]. Thank you for sharing and don't forget Saturday, October 5th....help us clear out our shelter and get fall pics taken with Zonda!
UPDATE: THE GIRLS ARE CURRENTLY ON A TRIAL ADOPTION!!
They are still needing homes.
We are looking for homes (or a home) for Carmen (calico) and Pia (female, black and white). This is a video from this morning. They are a hoot and love to romp, pounce and wrestle. Their fees have been waived today! They are litter box trained, love attention, affection and food. Did I mention they love food? They were found in a wheel well on East Broadway Street in Shelbyville Indiana two weeks ago. They are now big and old enough to be fostered-to-adopt. Questions about our darling duo? Call the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter at 317-392-5127 or email me anytime at [email protected]. Thank you for sharing and helping these babies find love. God bless you.
Elvis has been a little busy burying bones but he really wishes he could have a backyard of his own so he doesn’t have to hide his bones from the other shelter dogs. See how he buries them? Very mindful. Very demure.
Please share and help us find our sweet Elvis his forever home. Abandoned at Walnut Grove in Boggstown Indiana, no one came looking for this handsome and older hound/pit mix who knows sit, stay, is great with other dogs, gentle in taking treats and neutered. His fee has been waived and we will microchip, give him his booster vaccinations, wormer and flea meds. Questions about Elvis? Call the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter at 317-392-5127 or email me anytime at [email protected]. Our adoption hours are M-Th from 10:30 to 4:30 or until 4:00 on Friday. Thank you for sharing and helping this gray muzzle find love. God bless you, chris
WE STILL NEED A FOSTER!!!
This mom and her seven newborns were picked up by Officer Alexander on West 700 North (close to the casino) in Shelbyville Indiana. She is not microchipped or wearing a collar with tags. She is very clean and healthy and we are looking for someone to care for Mom and her babies. If you are interested in fostering, please call the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter at 317-392-5127 or email me at [email protected].
Watch out, here comes Beana struttin' her stuff. She strutted all the way to the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic where she was found to be already spayed! We went ahead and updated her rabies vaccine while she was there. Beana is a 1 year old Torbie and has a personality that'll knock your socks off. She is indifferent in the cat room, but we believe she's just an independent gal. Beana enjoys lounging around and grooming her gorgeous fur. She'd be a great lap cat for someone who wouldn't mind a little catitude. Beana is patiently waiting for her forever home. Questions about Beana? Please call the Shelbyville/ Shelby County Animal Shelter @ 317-392-5127 or email Chris anytime @ [email protected]

Brandi, thank you for loving Mack, for celebrating his birthday and for your video and pictures which would brighten anyone's day. He is certainly living his best life because of your family. We love you all so much!
Hello our shelter family and fur friends. As today marks one year we came in to just look at Mack after seeing him on pet finder I was determined to get him my husband was unsure but I just knew once I got my husband to see him in person he would be wrapped around his finger. Just as I thought we left the shelter with the missing piece of our family. It is hard to believe the year has flown by. He has been on so many adventures including a weekend in North Carolina a week in Florida and he enjoys traveling across the state of Indiana with our son tournaments. He has touched the hearts of everyone he meets but ours the most. We spent every holiday together with him. Although the booming noises of the fourth was his worst his Christmas was the best he got more gifts then we could fit in his toy box which we had to upgrade lol. Although he has his own bedroom with his bed toys and clothes he still chooses to sleep in the bed with his mommy and daddy. He loves the trips to dog park and to retrieve his pup cups. He even gets to go on trips to his Mimi and Papals with his human brother. We are just truly blessed with the ability to feel the love he gives our family and to think this wouldn’t be possible without our family and fur friends at the shelter so thank you all for everything you do.
Come see us at the Shelby County Public Library!! We have kittens and cats here available for adoption with fees waived! We will be here from 4pm-6pm.
