Easley Equine Dentistry

Easley Equine Dentistry An equine veterinary dentistry specialty practice serving Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
(20)

An equine veterinary dental specialty practice, Dr. Jack Easley and Associates serve the Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana geographical areas. Dental care (routine and advanced including surgery of the head, mouth and sinuses) provided by a board certified equine dental specialist and veterinarian is a primary focus of this practice. Referrals and consultations are received daily via farm visi

ts, email, telephone communications and admissions of patients to our facility in Shelbyville, KY. Our goal is to provide personal attention while educating horsemen(women) in the care of the “whole horse”. An oral examination should be the first step to a thorough physical examination. Ask a veterinarian to provide services and become knowledgeable about diseases before they become not only costly but detrimental to your horse. We want to provide clients, horse owners and veterinarians with up-to-date information regarding preventative dental care, diagnosis of disease and treatment options.

Diplomate Spotlight:

Jack Easley, DVM, MS, DABVP (Equine), DADVC (Equine) needs little introduction to most equine veterinarians and equine dentistry buffs, but we are super proud to have him as an ABVP Diplomate.

Dr. Easley also recently spoke at the ABVP Symposium and gave some amazing Equine Dentistry talks, as well as being the lead instructor for the Equine Dentistry Wetlab/Hands-On Workshop.

Dr. Easley also is a lead author on a new Equine Dentistry & Maxillofacial Surgery text. The new version of this text is incredible with many images, diagrams, and photo illustrations. All of the copies that he brought to the ABVP wetlab immediately sold out! The book is only available here currently:

https://www.cambridgescholars.com/product/978-1-5275-7629-2

Dr. Easley received a DVM degree from Tuskegee University in 1976. In 1982, he was certified as a Diplomate for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Equine) and was recertified in 1992, 2002, and 2012. He most recently has become board certified by the American Veterinary Dental College as one of the first Equine Dental Specialists.
Dr. Easley is also the co-editor and major contributor of Equine Dentistry texts.
Dr. Easley resides in Shelbyville, Kentucky where he owns a private practice emphasizing equine dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, medicine and reproduction.

Thank you, Dr. Easley, for your dedication to ABVP, to equine health and for helping to continue to share your knowledge through teaching and texts.

BIG WIN FOR HORSES TODAY! 🇺🇸🐎🇺🇸

The American Association of Equine Practitioners hails today’s passage of the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act (H.R. 693) in the U.S. House of Representatives! The legislation was approved by an overwhelming 333 to 96 bipartisan vote, and it will help end the cruel practice of horse soring, which is the deliberate infliction of pain to exaggerate a horse’s motion for the purpose of gaining an advantage in the show ring.

“For many years the AAEP has championed legislation to end this cruel practice, and today’s vote in the House is a victory for horses,” said Dr. Jeffrey T. Berk, 2019 AAEP president. “We now will work for passage of the Senate version of the bill.”

Our sincere thank you goes to Rep. Kurt Schrader and Rep. Ted Yoho, both veterinarians, who have been instrumental in securing this huge win for horses!
