I’m sure everyone has realized that the mosquitoes are AWFUL right now due to the massive amounts of rain and flooding we’ve been experiencing. Mosquitoes perfect breeding ground is still bodies of water, and there is plenty of that around right now!

Did you know that mosquitoes transmit heartworm disease? They feed on an animal that has heartworms and transmits the larvae when they bite an unprotected animal, they then mature and live in the valves and vessels of the heart, it is treatable but the treatment is expensive and painful, and if not treated it is fatal.

It can affect dogs and cats, though it’s harder to diagnose in cats. And just because your pets are indoors, does not mean they can’t contract the disease. We have all seen and have been bitten by mosquitoes in our homes so any animal unprotected is at risk.

Sentinel spectrum is a once a month chew for dogs that protects against heartworms and also intestinal worms and is very budget friendly and is significantly cheaper then treatment!

If your dog absolutely refuses the chews, we do have an injectable product that protects for a year called Pro Heart, this ONLY prevents heartworms and doesn’t cover any intestinal worms!

Revolution Plus (lasts for one month) and Bravecto Plus (lasts for 2 months) are for cats and are just applied topically, they prevent against heartworms, fleas, ticks and intestinal worms as well!

Stop in or give us a call to pick up your preventatives and keep your fur babies safe from this nasty disease!

*Sentinel and Pro Heart for dogs does require a current yearly heartworm test to purchase, call to schedule an appointment if your dog is over due so you can pick up preventative!*

The 4th of July is fast approaching and with that comes fireworks!

If your pet is anxious during firework events, DONT WAIT, plan ahead and call or visit us to get something to help ease their anxiety!

Pets don’t understand that being at home is the safest place to be during these events. If your pet is anxious, MAKE SURE they have identification in case they manage to get out and go missing! Identification can be collars/tags with your name/number/address or microchips!

We will be closed on the 4th of July and will be half staffed on Wednesday and Friday so please plan accordingly!

🩵THESE PUPS WERE RELOCATED TO THE SIOUX FALLS HUMANE SOCIETY.

These 3 cuties were found around 8th Ave in Sheldon. Our best guess is that they are young Kelpie mixes or some mixed shepherding breed. There is one female and 2 males. They are young and not fixed or potty trained. Their history is pretty unknown to us other than them likely being neglected and then dumped.

Please give us a call or stop in if you’d like to apply to adopt or have info about where they came from. Please do not message our page, please call with questions.
