Black Eagle Ranch Nigerians

Black Eagle Ranch Nigerians We raise registered Nigerian Dwarf goats for show and as pets. We have a clean, tested herd. My name is Pat Blank. We are also members of AGS and NDGA.

My husband Terry and I moved to our acreage in NE Iowa 37 years ago. We started with two pygmy goats and loved them, but discovered their dairy counterparts the Nigerian Dwarfs in 2000. We had some of the first of the breed in Iowa and have watched their popularity grow especially in the last 5 years. Our herd name is now permanently registered with the ADGA. Our herd tested negative in the fall o

f 2023 for CAE, CL and Johnes. We dam raise our babies, but handle them daily so they are people friendly without being obnoxious.

Holy smokes! πŸ₯Ά It better warm up by the end of the month. We have babies on the way!

Just found all this in my pockets this morning. In 2 weeks, I'll add rubber gloves and a thermometer during kidding. πŸ₯°πŸ’‰πŸ©Ί

If you have a vet who will care for your goats, then you are truly blessed. I am blessed 6 times over because my clinic, Plainfield and Clarksville Veterinary has 5 fulltime docs and one who is semi retired. We have an excellent relationship with mutual respect. Many clinics only see small animals or large animals, this one does both without hesitation. PLEASE if you have a vet who will care for your goats, thank them profusely. Take them donuts, cookies or a meat/cheese tray. If you have an appointment for office visit, always be on time. Be understanding if the farm call is hours late because they were trying to save an animal's life at another farm. The clinic is also blessed with a terrific support staff who is patient and kind even when it seems like the whole place is on fire. I've seen it myself in the waiting room. Thank you to all who work at the Plainfield and Clarksville Vet Service. You are AWESOME! πŸ₯°πŸπŸ©ΊπŸ’ŠπŸ’‰
