Our Alapahas watch over us, and our 45-acre farm while they also guard our livestock. Thus, continuing what they were bred to do...
***Any other breed of dog introduced into the Alapaha's bloodline, outside of what Lana Lou Lane (Founder of the breed) used in the establishing of her Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs changes a dog forever. It's no longer an Alapaha but is considered a Hybrid, and will not have the same unique character traits, temperament or health, etc., that makes this breed what it is. Some of those special inherent traits are Non-dog or Human aggression! along with being protective, and having the mental ability to read a situation before reacting. Commonly, dogs with natural guarding instinct are either one or the other or both dog/human aggressive.***
Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs were NEVER bred for aggression or for the appearance thereof. They are a very loving and loyal breed. By nature, they are not dog or human aggressive. Guarding is a natural instinct of this breed. They will protect if the situation arises. Our devotion is to PRESERVE the bloodlines unique to the Alapaha, following within the standard delineation in accordance with Ms. Lana Lou Lane. Due to Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs being highly rare and having such a unique narrow gene pool, we will Outcross *ONLY* with selective, PUREBRED White English Bulldogs (WEB) aka Old Southern Whites, one of the main, ORIGINAL breeds used in establishing the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs. This helps in "relaxing the bloodlines" and plays a large role in producing offspring which can be less affected by genetic defects and hereditary diseases.
