Happy New Year
As we close out 2023 and welcome in a new year. We at Adopt-A-Pet would like to thank all of our supporters: those who adopted from us, those who spent hours volunteering at the shelter, those who donated time, money, blood, sweat and tears with new lighting, heated kennels, toys and treats for all of the dogs.
Here is to a wonderful 2024 and "furever" homes for all of our dogs.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Sign up to become a volunteer today and not only make a difference for yourself but for all the dogs in need.
Caring for a shelter is hard work but so very rewarding! Many activities are needed: Dog Handling/Walking (most of our dogs are BIG & STRONG), Kennel Cleaning (requires bending and standing), Laundry, Grooming, Maintenance, Office, Adoptions, Fundraising, Grant Writing, Outreach and much more! If you don't mind picking up poop or the smell of it, many sloppy kisses and tons of love, join the amazing team of volunteers by visiting our website at: https://www.adoptapet-wa.org/volunteer and complete the online application. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in contact with you as soon as possible to schedule an orientation.
Adopt-a-Pet is an all-volunteer organization with zero paid staff. Our volunteers keep the shelter going and we need your help today! Do Good, Feel Good!
Shifts are:
Monday- Friday AM (9-11) & PM (3-5)
Saturday - AM (9-11), Mid Day (11-1) & PM (1-3)
Sunday - PM (2-4)
**Unfortunately we do not have floater shifts at this time, as it is very important that a schedule is followed for the sake of the dogs and other volunteers.

Meet POGO! He is a 70#, 4-year-old, PitBull/Rottweiler mix who hails from Texas! He has a short, sleek, black, coat with a long tail, and beautiful brown eyes.
Pogo is an active and strong boy who also has a sweet shy side. He does enjoy cuddles, car rides, and simply hanging out. True to his name is loves to jump around on leash walks and in the play yard. He is always up for a game with his toys and fetch. Children in the home should be 13+, dog savvy, kind, and sturdy due to his size. He is a wonderful companion and active family dog, and a securely fenced yard is required. Pogo would prefer his new home to be pet-free as cats are no-go and he is dog particular. Should his family have other dogs, proper introduction is required, and dogs should be his size or larger. Pogo does require an experienced owner to help continue his training, leash manners, and socialization.
