🌰🐿️ Happy Squirrel Appreciation Week! 🐾✨
We're kicking off the celebration today by filling up the bird and squirrel feeders outside so the dogs can enjoy some "Squirrel TV" from the windows! 🎥🐕 Watching those fluffy tails dart around is always a favorite activity here.

And to make it even more fun, we’ve got peanut-themed dog treats for the pups to enjoy while they watch their furry little friends! 🥜🐕💕

Greta is a sweet and spunky German Wirehaired Pointer, while Tilly is a lovable German Wirehaired Pointer, both bringing so much joy and energy to our playtime sessions.🖤🤎 These two have already started making new friends and fitting right into the pack!

Today, we honor the incredible life and legacy of Karen Pryor, a pioneer who transformed the world of animal training and left an indelible mark on our industry.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Karen Pryor’s groundbreaking work paved the way for trainers like myself, and countless others, to advocate for humane, effective training methods. While the fight for positive change would still continue, her visionary efforts undoubtedly accelerated the progress, bringing us to this better place much sooner than we might have otherwise achieved.

Karen Pryor was one of the first to show the world that animals don’t need to be trained with violence or fear. Her work with marine mammals in the 1960s, grounded in science and compassion, paved the way for positive reinforcement techniques that continue to shape the industry.

She didn’t just teach us how to train better; she taught us to see animals as sentient beings, deserving of respect, patience, and understanding.

Her book Don’t Shoot the Dog! remains a cornerstone in the field of behavioral psychology and animal training, introducing the world to the principles of operant conditioning and the power of positive reinforcement. The Karen Pryor Academy, founded in 2007, has trained thousands of professionals, ensuring her legacy endures in the hands of those committed to ethical training practices.

She laid the foundation for a movement that prioritizes trust, connection, and kindness. The positive changes we see in the industry today, our collective rejection of outdated, punitive methods, are a direct result of her fearless advocacy and unwavering belief in a better way.

Her work changed our field, but more importantly, it changed the way we connect with the animals who share our lives.

Thank you, Karen, for showing us what’s possible when science and compassion come together.

Your legacy will continue to inspire us, and we’ll strive to honor your memory by carrying your vision of compassion for animals forward. Rest in peace, and thank you for everything.

🌟 First Day Back for 2025! 🌟
We’re back and kicking off the new year with wagging tails and happy paws! 🐾 Today was all about easing into the routine with lots of outdoor active play, fetch, and fun socializing with friends. Even though it was chilly, the dogs didn’t let the cold slow them down—they were full of energy, wrestling, and chasing to their hearts' content! ❄️🎾

I’m thrilled to share our new Doggie Daycare Calendar for 2025! Starting January 7th, you can now plan ahead with our updated schedule for daycare availability. This is all part of my goal to bring more structure, fun, and enrichment to your pups’ daycare days!

🕰️Hours are 8am-4:30pm as I start chores/feeding boarding dogs then. But I'm always flexible to drop off and pick up times.

Here's to a brand new year!!🥂 🐾

2024: the year I officially became a stay-at-home dog mom… professionally. 🐾 Turns out, “career goals” can include managing a pack of fluffy chaos 🐕‍🦺🐕 while also trying to keep my kids alive and (pretty much never) on time for school. 🕒🏫

This year has been a wild ride 🎢, filled with ADHD burnout (because, of course, my brain decided to be a total overachiever in stress 🧠💥), but also so much growth. 🌱 I left my long-time job at Tractor Supply (RIP steady paychecks 💸) to jump headfirst into running my dog business full-time. 🏠🐕‍🦺 It’s equal parts exhausting and rewarding—and yes, my clients are cuter than yours. 🐶❤️

Shoutout to my amazing kids, friends, family, and clients who kept cheering me on 👏💪 (and occasionally feeding me caffeine ☕️) when I felt like I was falling apart. You’re the real MVPs. 🏆

Here’s to 2025: the year of fresh starts 🌟, bigger dreams ✨, and maybe, just maybe, remembering to fold my laundry before it wrinkles. 🧺😂 Wishing everyone a year of joy, love, and finding the humor in the chaos. ❤️🎉

🌧️ Rain, Rain, Go Away! 🌞
We finally caught a break in the rain, and these pups wasted no time enjoying some much-needed playtime today! 🐾💨 There's nothing like seeing tails wagging and smiles all around after being cooped up.

📅 Looking Ahead to 2025
Tomorrow, I'll be working on my updated daycare schedule for the new year! With the holidays and busy weekends around the corner, I'm planning to open a waiting list for anyone interested in signing up for daycare. Spots may depend on how many boarding dogs I have during peak times, but I’m excited to offer:
