Male and female available!

Bruno 💙 This sweet, handsome dude came into our program as a newborn back in May, and he hasn’t had a single application this whole time. 😢 He has a great temperament and gets along with everybody! Video in the comments of him sitting patiently for his treats and taking them so nicely. This boy has been waiting so long and really deserves to find his forever family. Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in him:

P.S. His sister Mirabel is also still available if you prefer a girl!

I think we can officially mark Clarabell adopted.
Her new family adopted an English bulldog from us last year. We knew it was a great home, we just wanted to make sure the dogs got along. It seems they are fine together, and Clarabell is going to get the spoiling she deserves!
We are happy for you, Clarabell!

Clarabelle has gone home with one of our previous adopters to meet their other dog. If all goes well, she will have found her new home. If you were interested in Clarabelle, please send in your application. If another dog comes around, it helps to have them already on file.

Now that she is actually here, we are learning more about her.

She is tiny, and precious! She is under 20 # and never makes a sound. She is already going to the door to go potty, so house trained is an easy ✔️
She is registered and microchipped, so we know she is turning 7 this month. She was used in a puppy mill for almost 6 years. She was returned to us because she really disliked the small dogs in her home. She gets along great with larger dogs, kids, and cats. She can be trusted outside a kennel while you are at work. She will follow your every step when you are home. She really just wants a lap to sit on.

When you get a puppy, you have no idea what genetic defects will present themselves. At almost 7, and healthy, Clarabell is out of the danger zone. She is cruising into her senior years like that granny that can outpace you at the gym. Don’t pass her over because of a number. She deserves her happily ever after!

Located in Billings. She is spayed. UTD on shots, and had a dental about 6 months ago. She is available for immediate adoption to an approved home. Contact us for an application!

Ok, we all know vet bills are getting ridiculous, and insurance is basically non existent for bulldogs. While this does not replace insurance, it may be a good option for some.
It covers your bill if you have an emergency (up to $3000)
Pre-existing conditions do not matter
It is only $20/month for your household of up to 6 pets!

So, if Joe had a breathing problem, and I had to rush him to the vet in an emergency, they would pay up to $3000. They don’t care that he already has a diagnosis of BOAS.
I have 5 dogs. They are all covered for that $20/month. This is great for multi pet households because I could never afford insurance for 5 dogs.
It can only be used once a year, but hopefully, you don’t have more than one emergency a year.
It truly is just for an emergency. They will not pay anything toward preventative care, but it sure would help knowing there is something to help you if you are in an emergency.
Now, my membership to PAWP is free because I have a Walmart+ account. Be sure to look into going through Walmart, if you are interested in this.

I would really like to know what everyone thinks!

I have a robot vacuum with a smart feature intended to keep it from running over dog p**p. It takes a picture of anything in its path it does not recognize, and sends it to you for identification.

My dogs are house trained, so luckily, I have never been sent a picture of p**p. However, I do have lazy bulldogs that don’t care if a vacuum is trying to clean. I tend to get a lot of pictures of bulldogs just blocking the way. I always have other breed dogs in the home, but no other breed has ever been captured on camera. Apparently, despising a clean home is a uniquely bulldog feature. 😂

BTW, there are two different dogs in these pictures, they just both happen to be white.

The update you all have been waiting for.
Jax Is happy, and has settled in well in his home.
He is no longer on any psych meds, and his skin is clearing up nicely. His new family reports that he is king of the castle. We are so very happy for Jax!

I have heard of a few cases lately where dogs on heart worm preventative have become heart worm positive. This study brings light to the issue. We will be switching all of our dogs. Please check with your veterinarian. Heart worms are devastating!

A few years ago we partnered with Dr. Peggy Fisher to conduct research on the prevalence of drug-resistant heartworms in Southeast Missouri. Dr. Fisher completed and published her findings last week. The study (attached) confirmed complete resistance to ivermectin/avermectin products (such as Heartgard). However, she also found resistance to milbemycin (such as Interceptor Plus). Dr. Fisher calculates milbemycin effectiveness to be only 35.9% in our area. Moxidectin products (such as Simparica Trio, Proheart 6, and Proheart 12) are still 97-100% effective. Because of this, we will soon stop carrying milbemycin products. We strongly recommend these patients switch to a moxidectin based product during their annual exam. We are searching for a moxidectin only, low-cost substitute to milbemycin products.

This study was performed using samples from Southeast Missouri (including samples from some of our own patients) - as always check with your veterinarian before making changes to your pet’s medications.
