Another Beginner Beekeeping Course starts in January in Boonsboro!

Introduction to Beekeeping Short Course
If you want to learn more about honey bees and beekeeping, the
Washington County Beekeepers Association is offering its annual
Beginner's Beekeeping Course
Our 2025 two-day class is planned to be held on:
January 11, 2025, 9:00 AM ET to 3:00 PM ET
-and-
January 18, 2025, 9:00 AM ET to 3:00 PM ET
(If one of these days is canceled, we'll hold class on January 25, 2025)
This two-day class will cover all the foundations of successful beekeeping from the basics of bee
biology to the in depth functioning of the hive. We will cover the history of beekeeping and their
role in our lives, necessary equipment, biology and hive dynamics, hive management strategies and
methods for maintaining hives that are healthy, strong, and productive. Join us to start a fascinating
journey into the world of the honeybee.
The course will be held at:
Trinity Lutheran Church
64 South Main Street
Boonsboro, MD 21713
Park in the rear. Use the side entrance.
There is a nominal course enrollment fee. This fee includes a one-year membership in the
Washington County Beekeepers Association.
To accompany portions of the course, you may choose to bring a copy of the 5th edition of
Beekeeping for Dummies by Howland Blackiston (2020).
The book is available from Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other sellers.
WCBA also recommends bringing a blank notebook to start your beekeeping journal.
Up to two members of the same household can attend under a single registration.
