Spent last week immersing in horsemanship and finding sticky spots in my feel that I need to shape up. The dance gets trickier and more refined the further you go, I’m grateful everyday for Buck and everyone around me for helping me along! I am left feeling eager to be better and reminded not to forget the seemingly little things in a horse’s foundation that lead into big things down the road.

Getting Cheeto exposed to ropes and cows on the ground. This was his 9th ride. Working the ground is a great way to get your young colt exposed and quiet about everything before you start roping live cattle on them. Cheeto is taking it all in stride, soon we’ll start heeling some and he’ll be ready just in time for branding!

It’s always nice to have repeat clients and horses. This mare spent some time with me last year for our fall gather and now I get the chance to put some more time into her, I’m excited to help her progress!

Good music, blue skies, the smell of sage brush, heifers linining out, and a good horse beneath you. What more could a girl ask for?
