Below are the agility runs we did today- only did 4 and did not qualify in any. But that is OK- he had a great start line wait and great contacts and he tried hard to do what I wanted. He is not even two years old yet, new place with lots of room to run, and we are still figuring things out- very proud of him.

The Sheridan WY NADAC - Agility Trial is April 19-21, 2024. I have attached a link to the premium below for those people that are qualified to compete. If you can't compete and want to watch, you are welcome to come also. The start times and address is on the premium. No dogs other than the dogs that are competing are allowed on site.

Wednesdays 3-7pm - Nosework Sniff n Goes
Thursday mornings - Nosework Sniff n Goes
Thursday evenings - 4H Dog Project
Friday mornings - Agility practice - if 2 or more people

Still conditioning the muzzle. I just say "sit, wait, muzzle" and he gladly pushes his nose into the hole of the muzzle. He is calm and not frantic. I give him some treats with the muzzle on then take it off while still calm. He is getting used to it.

Conditioning Harley to be ok with a muzzle just in case someday we need it. The other two are waiting in line for their turn. I will get to the point when I say "muzzle" and he chooses to put his nose into it. Looks a little small, I got a large and thought it would fit because they said it would fit retrievers. Turns out he has a big nose and should be wearing a Xtra large. 😅

FYI: Nosework 15 minute Sniff N Goes are scheduled to start Wednesday, March 27, 2024. These are for people/dogs that have been through at least two sessions of the Nosework Foundations and the dogs know how to indicate and search. I will be in contact with you shortly about scheduling options. Sheridan's Nosework Trial is May 18-19, 2024 - I will plan for 6 Sniff N Goes before the trial (weather permitting).

Looking forward to 2024! Next Group Obedience class session will start Monday, January 15 and the next Group Puppy class session will start Tuesday, January 9, Class time is 6:00pm with a possible 4:30pm option depending on enrollment - weather permitting.

I am very happy with this run. Not perfect, he missed some obstacles and I was late and early calling but he did listen and tried to do what I asked. I think this was his 6th try. Every run got better! All I can hope for.

All classes cancelled today! Low numbers because of Halloween and the kennel cough going around. Will have class #4 next Tuesday.

I have a couple spots open in the Agility Foundations classes (beginning agility) that start on Thursday, October 26th at 6:00pm. Dog MUST be crate trained, not aggressive and at least 9 months old. Agility Foundations classes - recommend two sessions - each session includes 5 classes. Each session is $150.00. Get in touch with me ASAP if you would like to be in the classes.

Another exercise with Harley. I had a hard time getting him to come into the tunnel. I did some back chaining when he was having a hard time. Ended up getting it, and yes, I am still a little late in calling cues. 🥴

Harley is coming along with his agility. I will need to be a little faster in my timing. We did a short exercise this weekend. We got most of it correct, but in watching the video, my timing is way off. 😬 He is only 15 months old.

Harley is a year old now. We have been working on weaves for a while every once and a while. Not pushing too much because his body is still developing. He is up to 12 weaves. Such a great dog.

Harley is starting obedience. Short sequences. Front, right finish, halt, heel a couple steps. I will need to fade out the body language and "squirrel hands". 😆

Harley and I worked on some agility today. When you video your self you really see what you are doing wrong, some of it was the dog, but most of it is all me. Late calls, wrong body language,forgot to check in with my dog at the start line...

One of Harleys runs today at agility practice. What a good, smart, motivated boy! So fun.

Not bad for a 9 month old dog. I am going to have to start calling alittle faster to keep up with this guy as he matures.

Speedy puppy indicating on scent tube. At one point she was hopping before she got to the pipe, but of course I didn't get that on video.

Harley is 8 months old now and we are starting to search. Of course before these runs he was faster and not distracted but as soon as I brought my husband in to video he started to slow down and was sniffing stuff other than the pipes. All part of the learning process, I just gave him time to think it through.
