Meet sparkling Star! She is 5 years old and comes from a loving home. Her senior owner has some health issues that make it impossible for her to continue caring for Star. Due to her health issues, Star’s owner has not been able to exercise her. Therefore, Star has put on some unwanted weight. We know this will come off quickly with a good diet and a fun exercise routine. As usual, we are looking for a home for Star with fairly minimal alone time. She does ok with other dogs, but does tend to ignore them. Thus, she would do well with a calmer (less playful) canine housemate. Star has no experience with young children, so children in Star’s next home should be over the age of 10 (per our placement policy). Star does enjoy the company of the kitty in her home, so a home with a cat is a possibility. Star is spayed, healthy and her vaccines are up to date. Star is not available through Northern California Weimaraner Rescue, but we can put you in touch with her owner. Please send us a Facebook message, if you are interested in adopting Star.

Meet marvelous Maxx! He is 5 years old, so he is past that puppy stage! Sadly, his owners were divorced and Maxx ended up in the home of a relative. The new family never really wanted Maxx, so they are trying to find him another home. He has lived with small dogs and has been around children at family gatherings. However, we are unsure of the ages of the children, so we are looking for a home for Maxx with children over the age of 10. Maxx will benefit from a home with humans that are home quite a bit with time to devote to exercising, training Maxx and helping him to be the wonderful boy we know he can be. Maxx has been neutered and we are working on getting his vaccines up to date. If you can foster or adopt Maxx, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/212066727579162

Meet dear Merrick….He is approximately 4 years old. He was very sick when he was found as a stray. He was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. As a result, fluid accumulates in his abdomen, which needs to be drained off every 3 weeks. He also gets medications 2-3 times per day. The fluid removal and medications keep him in good shape, but, in reality, his lifespan is limited to “some number of months” according to the vet. Merrick is super sweet and gets along with other dogs and even ignores the indoor kitty in his foster home. We are looking for a Weim angel that can serve as a permanent foster for Merrick in the Sacramento or Fresno area, as this is where we have found vets that are affordable to have Merrick’s care done. NCWR covers his costs. If you are willing to help this very deserving boy enjoy his life, please, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/212066727579162 or send us a Facebook message to hear more. Merrick thanks you!

Please also share, if you know any potential adopters! Meet handsome Buddy! He is just 3 years old and is just as sweet as can be. He came to us from a shelter, so we do not know his history. He was found as a stray, but Buddy’s luck quickly changed. He has been in one of NCWR’s fabulous foster homes. He is house trained and very calm for a younger Weim (just a wonderful boy)! We are looking for a home for Buddy with very minimal alone time with humans that have plenty of time to spend bonding in training Buddy. He is now neutered and up to date on vaccines. Since we do not know his background, we do not know how he is with cats or small children. Therefore, we are looking for a home for Buddy without kitties and children must be older (per our placement policy, children must be over the age of 10). If you think you dear Buddy would like to make this sweet boy a permanent part of your family, please fill out an application: https://form.jotform.com/212066727579162

We have 1 litter planned this year, if you're interested, and meet the minimum below, email direct from my website not FB. These will be high energy handful dogs so experienced real-weim owners with highly active lives and dicipline to train only please, these will not be born couch potatoes and will only do such after a lot of daily running. City people need not reply unless you RUN or bike a minimum of 5 miles every single day without fail. Country folk you better have lots of land and good fences and other dogs to play with, and same rules apply for experience. No need, time or care to deal with people that don't know what a real hunting bred Weim is all about these are NOT your pet store dumbed down version so if thats the Weim disposition you've had then move along my dogs will not fit you. Trust me.

Producing top quality American and European pedigreed Weimaraners for field, show, and companions.

📍IDAHO📍

Meet Panzer! Needing a home near Boise, ID.

Although he’s truly built like a tank, don’t let this big guy’s size and stature fool you. He is a love bug with the most gentle spirit and a real heart of gold. Panzer is three years old and has very typical GSP energy and prey drive, but also is a very typical Velcro-dog. He loves to be close to his people and give big kisses! Panzer is crate-trained, great on the E-collar (he would make an excellent hunter!), and knows basic commands. No other dogs, cats or little critters is best. This lover boy is truly a gem of a dog!

• VERY food motivated! A good listener if you have a treat 😂 he has to eat with a slow feeder. Does sit and wait very well for food though.
• he does bark, like in a protective manner, if we’re going outside and he seems someone walking past our apartment now. But he has a BIG voice.
• He’s really good in the crate and sleeps well through the night, quiet once he’s in and settled.
• he has TONS of energy even for a GSP. typical 3 year old where you’re like “okay when are you going to grow out of this 😂”. Needs lots of exercise. Loves fetch with tennis balls.
• Really great off leash with the e-collar. Great recall. Has some hunt training but skill not guaranteed.

Meet Scout 💛

Scout is a 10yo female Weimaraner who recently lost one of her owners and her remaining owner just moved into assisted living. She lived with them her whole life, so it has been a big change for her these past few months.

Scout is settling in with her foster family in the Dayton, Ohio area. She is sweet, friendly and ready to mingle. She loves her people, so expect her to be your shadow. She is doing well with her foster fur-sister, Niki. We have no background for how she is with cats, so best to go to a home without. No background with kids, so best to go to a home with older kids. Scout would do best to go to a home where someone could let her out to potty regularly as her meds increase water consumption. Plus, she enjoys your company 24-7.

Scout has had several life changes these past few months, so we're giving her time to settle and learn new routines. She has a few health issues, so she will need an adoptive family who can manage her needs. She has Addison's disease so she gets a shot every 25 days. If you aren't weak at the sight of needles these shots can be given at home. She is on some medications for her heart murmur, too. We've also learned that she has incontinence, so we've started her on Proin. We'll get a breakdown of her monthly costs. We're a small rescue with limited funds, but will help if needed.

She is pretty low key. She enjoys lounging on the deck and would enjoy walks around the neighborhood. She does counter surf, so counters need to be free of temptations. She free roams when her foster mom is at work.

Please email us at [email protected] if you are interested in adopting her. Thank you.
