UPDATE

Picked up Tanner this morning. Bets officr days he is a very good boy He si be available for adoption Rides well on the truck

Yesterday we had a surprise visitor show up at the ranch. I was in the house and the dogs started barking like crazy. I heard our gate alarm go off and then I looked at our security cameras and saw a vehicle at the gate. I went outside and by then the truck was too far away to get any details. My dogs went outside with me and as I was trying to round them up a skinny dog comes up under the carport with my dogs hot on his trail. Very skinny male dog …intact. Toenails so long with one that may have been ripped off. Went to get some food to put out for him and after a while I was able to get him leashed. In the meantime I noticed he did not chase our cats or go after the chickens…a good sign.

The dog let me look at his mouth. Gums very pale so I think he needs a good worming. Had some patches on his skin. He is at the vet getting looked at and vaccinated. No microchip.

Like every rescue out there our funds are stretched to the very limit. If you can help with the vet bill and want to contribute you can call the vets office direct and pay on our vet account for Hooves and Hounds. The number is 361-798-1500 or PayPal to [email protected]. I am happy to send you a tax letter to your email .

Here is a few pics of the dog we are calling Tanner

These pictures represent total defeat and so much of what stray and animals left to roam can go through. This young intact male was shot, twice This happens more often than you can imagine.

We named him "Lucky" and he has a fractured humorous, tons of maggots present in the wounds, infection, and fluid in his lungs. All the things you might imagine with bullet wounds, untreated injuries. Adding insult to injury - covered in fleas and ants. Completely alone with his injuries, looking for food, water, shelter as he stumbled along in pain. His sweet eyes are grateful for a safe place, a kind hand, and much needed pain relief.

The only way to save this guy and ensure he gets all he needs is a quiet place to lay his sweet head to rest and recover with a medical foster. We will provide everything!

We will ensure he is neutered, vaccinations, preventatives, and everything necessary for him to heal and adapt quickly to a “tri-pawd” lifestyle and he can live a long happy life with a loving family of his own.

We cannot continue this work without a tremendous community of support and that includes each of you!

Please share this post and look for updates on this Lucky's recovery!!🙏💜🐾

Gena and I are absolutely sickened and beside ourselves over the assassination of Charlie Kirk today. Whether you agreed or disagreed with his politics, nothing ever justifies this kind of unspeakable violence. Charlie was a husband and father of two, and our hearts break for his family. This is a dark day for America. We are witnessing far too many unspeakable acts across our country, and it must stop. We must stand together, grieve together, and demand that such evil never becomes normal. We are praying for his loved ones and for healing in this broken time.

Little Trina aka Tatot Tot was adopted to a wonderful woman 10 years ago. Noelle gave her the best home and loved this shy shy little girl so much. Trina crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. We will see you on the other side sweet Tator Tot.

Both Lucies Project and H &H have been called about this dog at the Sandy Creek Store today 7-5-25. Lucies is full we are full . Is there someone out there who can give this dog a place off the street for a couple of weeks so I can formulate a plan. People who are willing to foster are few and far between. This poor dog looks like he has had a rough go of it.
