Good morning everyone. We have about 28 cats who live at the ranch here at Hooves and Hounds. We are in desperate need of cat food. Please help us feed the cats who live here. These cats have already been spayed and neutered. We have helped various cat groups over the years to provide a place for these cats to live Please help us feed these cats . The last group of kittens was left at our front gate a few months ago so we have added to our numbers.

We also need dog food to feed dogs and help our foster feed the fosters he has.

We get it. Raccoons are adorable and sweet and cuddly…when they’re young. They grow up, of course. Then they have the potential to be extremely destructive and even dangerous to household members. This is why raccoons do NOT make good pets.

When someone finds a baby raccoon, sometimes they decide to keep it and raise it as a pet. It may go well for a while, but when it gets older and begins chewing holes through bedroom doors or tearing into cabinets in the kitchen, they stop being so cute. When they bite or scratch people in the home, they stop being so cute. If a bite is reported, the raccoon will be euthanized due to the rabies risk. At some point, it becomes too much to deal with and we get a call asking if they can relinquish the raccoon to us.

Of course we will take it. However, now the raccoon has NO idea how to live in the wild and will be incredibly stressed as it is moved from the only home it’s ever known. That makes it extremely difficult to rehabilitate.

Please, please, PLEASE don’t try to raise a raccoon. It most likely won’t end well for you or the raccoon. Call us instead and let us raise and rehabilitate it so it has a chance at a wild life.

‼️ Remember, none of our animals are pets and it is illegal in Florida to own wildlife without proper permitting. ‼️

Little Archie left Texas in 2015 to be with the best family he could ever ask for. Archie loved his family and brought so much joy and happiness. We are keeping Michelle and Steve in our thoughts and prayers as they grieve their loss. We will see you on the other side Archie

UPDATE.
We need help with fosters who could help us for six weeks . The kittens are small and are getting out of their enclosure. Last night while I was rounding them up the mosquitos were unbearable and were swarming me and the kittens. We need some time to help them grow they are very friendly. Will provide kitten chow.

Surprise for us this morning. Four kittens left at our front gate. Two ran off. Friendly little kitties. Bathed them to get the fleas off. Please help with kitten chow. Not prepared for them.

These two cute puppies were dumped in Ganado. They were saved from an uncertain end. These cuties are about 10 weeks old. One big one girl. We are looking for someone to help foster so we can save them Please help us

Meet Lulu. Recently surrendered approximately 25 lbs. Affectionate good with other dogs large and small. We have so many dogs. Thinking she is terrier, chi maybe some Dachsund. She was picked up in a Walmart parking lot as some people were giving away puppies. She made her way to Sheridan area and now she is looking for a family. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and about 8 months old.

Meet Jack. He was found in Shiner area. He is young between 1 and 2. Neutered. 40 lb range. Jack is easy going with people and other dogs. Neutered and up to date on Rabies vaccine, Botdatella, distemper parvo combo
Heartworm negative.
