These pictures represent total defeat and so much of what stray and animals left to roam can go through. This young intact male was shot, twice This happens more often than you can imagine.

We named him "Lucky" and he has a fractured humorous, tons of maggots present in the wounds, infection, and fluid in his lungs. All the things you might imagine with bullet wounds, untreated injuries. Adding insult to injury - covered in fleas and ants. Completely alone with his injuries, looking for food, water, shelter as he stumbled along in pain. His sweet eyes are grateful for a safe place, a kind hand, and much needed pain relief.

The only way to save this guy and ensure he gets all he needs is a quiet place to lay his sweet head to rest and recover with a medical foster. We will provide everything!

We will ensure he is neutered, vaccinations, preventatives, and everything necessary for him to heal and adapt quickly to a “tri-pawd” lifestyle and he can live a long happy life with a loving family of his own.

We cannot continue this work without a tremendous community of support and that includes each of you!

Please share this post and look for updates on this Lucky's recovery!!🙏💜🐾

Gena and I are absolutely sickened and beside ourselves over the assassination of Charlie Kirk today. Whether you agreed or disagreed with his politics, nothing ever justifies this kind of unspeakable violence. Charlie was a husband and father of two, and our hearts break for his family. This is a dark day for America. We are witnessing far too many unspeakable acts across our country, and it must stop. We must stand together, grieve together, and demand that such evil never becomes normal. We are praying for his loved ones and for healing in this broken time.

Both Lucies Project and H &H have been called about this dog at the Sandy Creek Store today 7-5-25. Lucies is full we are full . Is there someone out there who can give this dog a place off the street for a couple of weeks so I can formulate a plan. People who are willing to foster are few and far between. This poor dog looks like he has had a rough go of it.

UPDATE 7-7-2025. Have thought about what to share on this update since I heard back from the FCSO office. I am told that Sgt. Lala received some kind of disciplinary action. I had asked to sit down to speak with her but was told by the officer I made the complaint to that would not likely happen. For those who think Sgt Lala is wonderful...good for you. The Sgt. Lala I spoke to ...was not a wonderful or decent person let alone responsible. Sgt. Lala is not a shining example of law enforcement or a decent person. Thankfully whoever was harassing us on her behalf finally stopped.

UPDATE 6-12-25 complaint is filed.
Sgt Lala had the opportunity to
be part of the solution and not the problem. You dont dump your dog. You dont let your dog run loose, no ID, no rabies tag on the dog. She had the opportunity to do better and did not.

UPDATE 6-11-25 I will be meeting with the Fayette County Sheriff Department tomorrow regarding Sgt. Lala.

UPDATE will be filing complaint talked to sheriff

No word from anyone from Sheriff Korenek office. Not a return phone call or a return email.

The finder did receive a call from a number belonging to Chad warning her not to post something that was not true. Both the finder and I were on the call with Angela on Saturday. We both heard Angela tell us drop the dog back in the road and husband did not want dog….
One of the finest of people that I know found a dog wandering loose on the road today and picked it up so it would not become roadkill. No ID no tags. She called and asked if I could scan for a chip. She drove out to the ranch and I scanned the dog. The dog was chipped . We were able to locate the owner of the dog. Angela confirmed the dog was hers . The offer was made to bring the dog to her. Angela told us to go put the dog back in the road where it was. Really… then she said her husband did not want the dog . I asked her if she did not want the dog why didn’t she take the dog back to the shelter she got the dog from. The person who told us to go put the dog back out on the road is sgt Angela Lala with the Fayette County Sheriff office. If this is what Fayette County Sheriff office has as a protocol this is very disconcerting. I called the Fayette County Texas Sheriff Department and asked to speak to officer in charge on duty. Well I did not get to speak to officer in charge but the dispatcher told me she was calling SGt Lala. Hope Sgt Lala does not have anything to do with animal investigations

It is always a wonderful thing when you receive an update on a rescue dog. Bambi was found in the most wretched of conditions in South Houston at a run down trailer park. Bambi went on transport to Wisconsin in May of 2016 up to Lucky 7 rescue. She was adopted by David and has since moved to Florida. David sent us a lovely email to update us. Bambi is 12 years old and living a great life with her family. God Bless David and Bambi.

Little Izzy Jane went to live with a wonderful local family after she outlived her first adopter . Izzy Jane had part of her leg missing as a result from her time in the puppy mill. That never stopped her from enjoying her best ever life. Thank you Collette and family for giving her such a wonderful home and family. I am not sure of exact age but I would not be surprised if she was 16 when she crossed the bridge. Izzy Jane you were so loved by your family.
