He has a bit of staining but overall a very healthy mouth for a nine-year old dog due to great preventative care by his owner!

Friday, we said goodbye to Lenni. As our second rescue to the cat sanctuary, he came to us in terrible condition, weak and suffering. His kidneys were very sick—his bloodwork was bad, and his ultrasound showed a sad story. But we gave him a chance.

For weeks, we cared for him with hope. Sometimes, he looked better, and we thought he could fight. But now, it was time to let him go.

We could not save his body, but we gave him something more important—we gave him love. He was not alone. He felt warm hands, soft words, a full belly, a gentle bath. He knew kindness and care. That is what matters most.

Not every fight is won by curing sickness. Sometimes, it is making sure no one leaves this world alone. 💛

Leni’s journey ends, but he leaves with love.

Thank you for all who cared for him, donated in honor of him, we are so grateful we were able to help him because of all you! 💚

We hold a monthly pop-up vaccine clinic the third Sunday of every month to help keep members up-to-date on all their required shots to be in the park!

It’s our favorite month! February AKA:

PET DENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH!

At Green Dog, we put dental health at the forefront of our importance to owners on how to extend the lives of their pets.

From non-anesthetic dental cleanings, to extractions, root canals, and so much in between. We offer it all by our dedicated dental teams.

MEDICAL INTAKE UPDATES!

TOM - Tom was our first intake brought to us found near the palisades burn areas. He came in with minor injuries and is recovering amazing and he will soon be looking to be placed in a foster home to fully decompress.

LENNI - Sweet Lenni is the oldest of the bunch and the only one that was chipped! We are working with the original rescue that had him as a part of a TNR program ten years ago. He is battling some major kidney and liver issues and will be in our care for a bit of time as he recovers.

Grayson - This sweet big guy came in with substantial wounds, that will need some time to heal. He was not chipped and believed to be a stray that was escaping the fires and got hurt in the process. He is expected for a full recovery with no other concerns!

Davi - Is our newest intake who is battling an intense upper respiratory infection from first initial exam. We have just began tests and will have more updates on him to come!

Thanks to everyone’s gracious donations to our gofund me we are able to continue to give these guys the around the clock medical care they need.

While a top priority has been our cat sanctuary and medical aid for pets impacted by the fires, we are still open full for our regular schedule of appointments and urgent care!

It’s already almost February one of our FAV months aka pet dental month 🦷😁🐾.

Yesterday Dr. Garcia and a small team went to help to give exams and health certificates for rescue dogs leaving to Idaho!

pulled dogs from the Carson and West Valley shelters as well as some dogs from .

These dogs are headed to Idaho which leaves more rooms for these shelters and rescues to help intake dogs impacted by the Los Angeles fires.

🚨URGENT NEED FOR PET SEARCH AND RESCUE MISSION🚨

My name is Dr Ren Garcia, and I am the founder and chief of staff at Green dog Dental & Veterinary Center, in Venice/ SM.

I, myself, am a former firefighter and EMT, and local to local to the community of Santa Monica and Venice.

I NEED YOUR HELP.

I have been granted access to perform a search and rescue pet operation into the Palisades burn zone on Thursday at 4pm

I have received many inquiries from owners who have lost their homes that they cannot find their pets. I’m certain that there are many cats and dogs that are hiding in the rubble, and I have prepared to team to be able to set traps in different areas, to be able to rescue these animals, rehabilitate them in our hospitals, and connect them back with their owners.

Time is of the essence, as it’s already been over one week and there are still many pets, without food and water that have not been found.

IMMEDIATE NEED FOR THIS SEARCH AND RESCUE MISSION:
30 ANIMAL TRAPS
IDEALLY SIZED 32-40 inches or bigger

Pets breathe faster and have a stronger sense of smell, making them more vulnerable to wildfire smoke. When the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches 101-150, pets like puppies, seniors, and those with breathing issues need to stay inside—air-conditioning is key, and outdoor time should be brief. 🚫

If the AQI climbs above 151, it’s unsafe for everyone—furry friends included. Refer to the AQI table to understand when it’s time to keep your pets indoors.
