We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Dr. Grace! We couldn't be more excited to see where this career takes her.

Dr. Grace hails from The Woodlands, TX, and has spent her entire life in the great state of Texas! Growing up, she was an avid sports enthusiast, playing a variety of sports, but she truly shined in soccer, which she played through college at Texas A&M. 🏅⚽️

Her passion for Veterinary Medicine led her to Vet School at Texas A&M (gig’em!), where she fell in love with everything about Aggieland, especially the sports! 🏈🎓

Dr. Grace's veterinary interests are diverse, including surgery, preventative care, and large animal medicine. Her dedication to animal health and well-being is truly inspiring!

On a personal note, Dr. Grace is getting married this January and has a wonderful furry family: a golden retriever named Riggs and a cat named Kallie! 🐶🐱

💊 Anti-Anxiety Medications:
If your pet experiences severe anxiety, it might be a good idea to talk to your vet about anti-anxiety medications. These can be a valuable tool in keeping your pet calm and comfortable. Be sure to:
Plan Ahead: Visit your vet well before the 4th of July to discuss your pet’s needs and obtain any necessary medications.

Let's dive into the world of tick-borne diseases: Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, and Lyme. Lady recently tested positive for both Anaplasma and Ehrlichia, and it's crucial to understand what these diseases are and the symptoms they can cause in our furry companions.

🔍 Anaplasma**: This bacterial infection, transmitted by ticks, can lead to symptoms like fever, lethargy, joint pain, and decreased appetite in dogs.

🔍 Ehrlichia**: Another tick-borne illness, Ehrlichia infects white blood cells and can manifest as fever, lethargy, loss of appetite, swollen lymph nodes, and in severe cases, bleeding disorders.

🔍 Lyme Disease**: Caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, transmitted through tick bites, Lyme disease can result in fever, lameness, joint swelling, lethargy, and decreased appetite.

It’s coming to be that time of year again! The much anticipated 4th of July! Great celebrations, fireworks, barbecues, you name it! But…some pets may dread this time of year. It can be a source of fear and anxiety. Katalina tells us how we can create a “safe space” for our more anxious pets. Research shows cats prefer the color purple to soothe them, dogs prefer green. Also, reinforcing anxious behavior by holding your pet can be counterproductive, instead, have your pet sit next to you or place them in their safe space.
