Temporary Closure Notice – Deep Cleaning in Progress

The shelter is currently undergoing a scheduled deep cleaning and sanitation to ensure a safe, healthy environment for our animals, staff, and visitors.

As part of this process, we will be closed for both animal intakes and adoptions for the unforeseeable future at this time. The lobby and office will also be closed to mitigate any foot traffic.

Please call 501-835-1425, if you need emergency assistance.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we’ll keep you updated on our reopening.

Thank you for your continued support!

We asked for your pup-dates and you delivered! Here's several wonderful after adoption photos from our past adopters along with some quotes!

From Daisy (Gale): “She was adopted in November of 2023 and is one absolutely spoiled rotten queen of the house. She loves her walks/hikes and wants to spend the rest of the day cuddled next to us. She is such an angel, thank you all for taking such good care of her until we could take her home!”

From Turkey: "We adopted Turkey Pot Pie in November 2020! Yes, he’s just as goofy as his name. It was the name he had when we adopted him, and it fit him so perfectly that we decided to keep it! He’s been with us through some big moments over the past five years; getting married, moving, and welcoming our first child. He loves going on walks, playing with others, and sleeping in our bed. We love our Turkey!”

From Lochness: "I adopted Lochness back in June of 2022 from your shelter. It's hard to believe it's been a while since I first met my furry companion. Time has flown by since I brought my pet home, and I can't imagine life without him. The little pup brings so much joy, and I can't thank you enough! It's been an amazing journey so far. He's certainly loving all the love he's getting!”

From Buddy: “I adopted Buddy September of 2016; he has truly been the absolute best boy! He’s still going strong at 10 years old and he’s my best friend ❤️🐾.”

From Phoenix: “I Just want to say thank you for everything. Phoenix is settling in great. He loves his new backyard! He’s a perfect fit for our family!”

Come meet our amazing pets still up for adoption and, who knows? Maybe your story will inspire someone else to adopt a shelter pet!

Do you know me? I got spooked by something yesterday and was running around the Links Apartments off the Brockington side. A nice lady and an officer helped to keep me out of traffic and brought me here to wait for my owners. Please tell them I'm here so I can go home, I'm still very scared.

It has been a wonderful day of adoptions here at the shelter!

First: Aggie, our residential waterdog that has been with us since January and our first intake of the year, has finally found her forever home! She's looking forward to playing with her new brother, Doug, and swimming in the pool with her new family!

Second: Sweet Stevie Wonder has found himself a new family where he can grow with love and support! A HUGE thank you to Wobbles & Stomps for helping to share this boy and help us find him a happy forever!

Third: Phoenix, who has been in foster since May, finally caught the eye of his new wonderful family! His new mom and dad saw his post all the way in Mississippi! They came and did a meet and greet beforehand and finally took him home today!

We are so happy to see these wonderful dogs find their forever homes and are ready to help the other wonderful pets we still have find their happily ever after!

We’d like to take a moment to respond to the concerns surrounding the recent case involving the dog found in poor condition, as well as clarify the reasoning behind how we handled the situation.

From the beginning, we approached this case with compassion and caution. While the dog was presented to us as a found animal, certain details raised concerns. Due to these suspicions, we were especially careful in how we handled the situation.

Our goal was to ensure the dog’s suffering did not continue and that the case was managed with both integrity and responsibility. The dog has been returned to its rightful owner.

At the end of the day, we are in the business of working compassionately not only with animals, but also with the members of our community who love and care for them. We want to take this time to remind everyone about our free community pantry, which has food available for both dogs and cats. If you or someone you know ever finds themselves needing help with feeding their animal, please reach out, we are here to help.

Thank you so much Wobbles & Stomps! We would love to see this boy in a more beneficial environment!

UPDATE: STEVIE HAS A HOME!

This is Stevie Wonder, a 13-week-old Catahoula mix who is partially deaf and partially blind. He needs a foster or adopter ASAP so he can get into a more therapeutic environment. He is currently located at Sherwood Animal Services in Sherwood, AR.

We are over capacity (please see our adoptables online!) or we would gladly take this guy in. Instead, we are asking you to share the post and help us find Stevie a home!

A Big Thank You to Our Amazing Fosters! 🐾💛

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible fosters who have stepped up to care for the puppies that were recently abandoned. While it's heartbreaking that these sweet puppies were left behind, the love and care they’re receiving now is a true silver lining.

Each foster has been an absolute lifesaver, giving these puppies the safe, nurturing environment they need to heal and grow. You are all heroes in this story, and we can’t thank you enough! 🙏🐶❤️

If fostering isn’t an option for you, you can still make a huge difference by donating essential supplies. Right now, we are in need of: Puppy Milk Replacer, Wet Puppy Food, Paper Towels, Linens, and Cleaning Supplies.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps provide for these puppies and supports our efforts in helping future pets.

Thank you again to our fosters and to everyone supporting us during this time. Whether you’re fostering, donating, or simply spreading the word, you’re making a real difference. 🌟

While the puppies are in good hands, we are still actively seeking information on the person responsible for abandoning them. If you have any leads, please reach out to us — we are committed to finding justice for these puppies.

UPDATE: Phoenix is adopted! And we are so happy for him!

We can't understand why this sweet guy is still not adopted. Pheonix is an approximately 1 year old Aussie/Husky mix weighing in at around 25-35 lbs. His foster says that he is super sweet, loves to play with toys, and a total cuddle bug. His foster also says he is doing well on his housebreaking, leash training, and basic commands. He is fully vaccinated, up to date on his monthly heartworm prevention and flea and tick preventative, and neutered. All he's waiting on is his new family and his forever home.

Please call us at 501-834-2287 and we can schedule a meet and greet with his foster!
