Cats have arrived from Southern Oregon!
We received a transport of almost two-dozen cats this afternoon from our partners at Saving Grace Humane Society and Josephine County Animal Shelter They had a long ride and are settling into their temporary homes in the shelter. We'll have them available for adoption soon.
Help! We're low on giveaway carriers for our low-income surgery clients!
Sometimes, our pet owners bring their cats and kittens to us in carriers that aren't safe for the animals. When that's the case, we give carriers to them at no cost and our backstock is running low. Can you help donate a carrier or two so our clients can safely transport their pets home post-procedure?
The hard-sided, top-loading carriers make it easy for our recover volunteers to care for the cats after they awake from surgery. Here's the link to our amazon account for exactly what we love: amzn.to/3PPBdhn
You'll want to confirm our shipping address before sending:

Sherwood, OR 97140
We will also take any carriers that may be collecting dust at your home, please don't donate the dust, too! We cannot take broken carriers as we don't have the hardware to repair them. If you want to donate carriers, you may do so at our reception area during open hours: Tues - Sun; noon - 6 p.m.

Most of us feed our cats in a dish or plate once or twice a day. Did you know that puzzle feeders can encourage mental stimulation and reduce boredom? These tools can also be used to increase physical activity and slow down speed-eaters, like Weekend who loved his Purina kibble so much that he was known to inhale his meals.
This used a puzzle feeder while he was in our care to allow natural hunting behaviors and keep him occupied throughout the day. Our residents’ love for the food is just one reason we’re a

UPDATE: Yubaba charmed a lovely family today and was ADOPTED!
With a coat nearly as stunning as a Miyazaki illustration, Yubaba is a gorgeous and vivacious 9-year-old cat looking for a home.
You won't soon forget this petite and friendly lady. With a squeak of a meow and a purr so subtle you'll need to snuggle in tight to hear it, she'll woo you with her adorable ways.
A equal lover of people and snacks—and people with snacks in hand— you simply must stop by the shelter to take a meeting with this lady.

We're celebrating! Cats and kittens and adopters and donors and supporters and volunteers and fans and cat-lovers all around! Thanks to you we sent nearly 2,400 cats and kittens to new families in 2024.
We also performed over 1,300 spay/neuter surgeries on pet cats through our low-cost on-site clinic. Additionally, we were able to help 124 cats and their families stay together by offering medical and behavioral care through our Keeping Cats in Home program.
2025 is going to be a great year for our community! If you're looking to add a cat to your family, come see us!
The cat-lovers (CAT-lovers) at Vida Design Inc. made our New Year's dreams come true by gifting us the majority of our wish list. Imagine our surprise and gratitude when our online list started to dwindle and packages showed up at our doorstep. Wow! Food, toys, scratchers, treats, catnip, medical supplies, cleaning tools— they just kept coming.
If you're in the Portland area and need some gorgeous interior design work done, hit these folks up. They know how to make beautiful spaces and love cats like none other.

Welcoming a new cat into your home? One of the best ways to help them feel comfortable is by setting up a safe room. This cozy, quiet space allows your feline friend to adjust to their new surroundings at their own pace. Fill the room with essentials like a comfy bed, litter box, food, water, and a few toys. Give them time to explore, and soon they’ll feel right at home! 🐾🏠 This video stars some of our own recently adopted cuties! #CatAdoption #SafeRoom #NewCat #CatCare #FelineComfort #CatLovers #AdoptDontShop #CatParenting #PetSafety
Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the largest cat shelter in the Pacific Northwest dedicated to finding a home for every cat we take in. With the generous support of our community, we offer adoption, foster care, and veterinary services to homeless cats and kittens.
With over 20 years of experience and more than 50,000 adoptions, we know cats! While in our care, cats and kittens have access to enrichment activities, behavior modification, medical care, and a variety of housing options to meet their individual needs.
Our doors opened on May 1, 1998, and since that time we’ve remained dedicated to saving the lives of homeless felines.
CAT’s staff and volunteers work tirelessly to care for and find a home for every cat and kitten we take in. Through our carefully supervised adoption program, more than 3,300 cats and kittens are adopted into loving homes each year.
