On behalf of all of the WVT crew (Heather Lynn Keller, Alex Lee, and Jenny Trainor) we would like to congratulate all of our students and owners on a phenomenal first show of the year. Every single horse that went into the ring came out with a blue ribbon! We have several first timer riders and a few new horse and rider teams that made their debuts over the weekend.
We want to give a huge shout out to all of our staff and clients for helping make this last weekend possible. With 18 horses, this was not an easy task! We would love to thank our in barn farriers Quentin Gravelle and Lillian Wenham for tagging along and helping keep our horses feet up to the highest standards. We would also love the thank our fantastic team of vets at Oakhurst Equine for taking the best care of our horses possible and to Melissa Shaver for making sure that all of our horses were well adjusted and ready to work.
Here are just a few of our rider’s amazing highlights!
- Taylor Rez and WVT’S Colors of the Wind won their first Championship class
- Lillian Wenham and Scandal at the Ritz won both the Novice Rider class and the Ladies to Ride class. This was Lillian’s first show ever and she absolutely rocked it!!
- Jason Tongue won his first 3 gait class on Bandimere
- Dalaney Clark and High Velocity Jazz won a big Youth Championship class
- Lynne Hilmer and WVT’S Double Trouble made their big debut and worked extremely hard to get ready as a team. They won the 2 gait Open Championship.
- David Green has been working incredibly hard on his horsemanship skills and bonding with his new horse MegaBucks and won several classes on Saturday. We are very proud of him and his dedication!
- Chris Reznicsek and I’m Totally A Princess won the 2 gait AOT Championship
- Lisa Jenkins and Diamond M Bar Maryann won the 2 gait Colored Horse class on Saturday and made it through their first show together without a hitch!
To end the weekend with a bang, two of our top horses won both the 2 and 3 gait BEST IN SHOW classes. Congratulations to Lynne Hilmer on the 2 gait Best in Show and Carolyn Jackson Griffith on the 3 gait Best in Show. Both Sonny and Bandy showed to the best of their abilities and had flawless rides.
We are beyond proud of each and every one of our owners, riders, and horses for giving their all this weekend. We are beyond blessed to have each and every one of you in our program and love you all beyond measure.
Congratulations on such a phenomenal show to each and everyone one of you.
We’ll see you again the first weekend in May! Buckle up for a lot more fun! We’re just getting started 🎉🎉
