Calloubet CF aka Cosmo back to the show ring❤️🔥
This horse is truly incredible! I can’t believe how amazing he was at the show; a young horse hauling in all 3 days no prep & no lunging. Cosmo walked straight in the show ring both days, heard the buzzer and went to work. We only did a total of 4 classes because I was in awe at how good he was. Mind you, we also took last year completely off of showing as well. This show was a height move up from the last show too at .85 , could I have pushed him to jump bigger? Sure, but whats the point. We have many many years to do that & keeping him confident & sound is more important than what height we are doing.
As soon as i walked out of the show ring on day 1 of the show after all my rounds, i noticed he was missing a front shoe (come to find out he had lost it at jump 1 in the very first round) so he did both rounds missing a front shoe! He’s a very stoic horse and he aims to please so much that it wasn’t surprising to me that i had no idea it was off, we trotted around after the rounds just like normal.
Instead of moving him up a height & showing him for the rest of the week like most people would do, i decided to end him at show day 2 because of how amazing he was. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it💁🏼♀️ instilling confidence in my young horses is my upmost priority. Before we walked out of the show ring after every round, he got a treat so he knows this is a good place to be ❤️ and if ribbons matter to you we came home with a 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th. 😂 the goal with young horses is never to win- its to get around the course quiet, nice & smooth which is exactly what he did.
Thank you to Carson Norcutt , my vet Amanda Pierce and my farrier Justin Feinberg-Cristler for being the best team and making sure my horse feels his best in and out of the ring
