We are a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and abandonment of animals. We assist in funding spay and neuter services on a case by case basis to prevent unwanted animals. We have spent $31,000 on spaying and neutering in our community since 2009 . Because of our thrift store we have found loving forever homes for 214 cats and kittens and 58 dogs since 2008.

Greetings community. If anyone has any leftover venison/elk or other wild game meats they wish to donate, we are in dire need of it. Our freezer was full, however this season we took in several carnivore species like this injured young coyote who ate it all! However, we need venison for other animals like Turkey Vultures who are federally protected and we like to introduce young ones to the meat they will find most on the road as roadkill.
Please call our hotline (530)365-9453 and leave a message so we can make arrangements to meet you at our Center as we are on Fall/Winter hours now.

Our Story

We are a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and abandonment of animals. We assist in funding spay and neuter services on a case by case basis to prevent unwanted animals. We spend an average of $10,00o a year providing spay and neuter in our community. R.A.I.N. has placed an average of 100 cats and kittens, 50-70 dogs a year since 2009. We also foster and reunite lost animals with their owners. We have a relationship with Shasta Wildlife as a go-between with the public to receive and transport injured wildlife.
