The Wild Horse Sanctuary is a non-profit, tax exempt, public foundation and 5,000 acre preserve dedicated to the protection and preservation of America's wild horses. Rather than allow 80 wild horses living on public land to be destroyed, the founders of the Wild Horse Sanctuary made a major life decision right then and there to rescue these unwanted horses and create a safe home for them. And jus

t as quickly, they launched a media campaign to bring attention to the plight of these and hundreds of other wild horses across the west that eventually led to a national moratorium on killing un-adoptable wild horses. Black Butte is to the west and towering Mt. The current location features better accessibility for the public, a milder winter climate with more natural cover, and other benefits for the horses.

Today we shed a tear, we celebrated memories, held space for new beginnings, had lunch at the buffet table and burned broken boards. Our camp is no longer, it had been vandalized so many times that it was time to break it down. Just remember memories are forever….. and we have lots of great memories from cowboy coffee by the fire early in the morning watching the sun come up to watching the stars at night. Stay tuned for new beginnings.

We appreciated the opportunity to hand out treats at Manton school, providing a fun alternative to door-to-door visits which can be difficult in our rural community. We made new friends and will be back next year.

We are so VERY EXCITED to welcome Starbuck (now gelded) and his 10 mares: Tansy, Lahaina, Kizzy, Rosebud, Baby Jewel, Blue Mama, Rosie, Stacy, Kit, and Party Girl. At the end of this month they will become permanent residents of the Wild Horse Sanctuary!

Wild Horse Connection is seeking donations to offset the cost of vet care and transport to the WHS.

We'll be seeking sponsors for these beauties once they arrive to help with hay, mineral supplements and maintaining safe fencing.

More to come soon!
