As the craziness of county fair and showing market animals slows down on the homefront it's time to get back in the focus of building our organization again. We have raised a pig to raffle off and are selling tickets for a whole custom butchered pig. Tickets are $10 or buy 2 get 1 free. Help us reach our goal for some new fencing and veterinary consultation for our sweet Foxy's growth.

A Horse Can...

Teach a boy with anger problems how to live a gentler life.

Take a guy with a severe lack of patience and show him the how and why to slow down, that it will take as long as it takes.

Give him a safe place to vent when the world doesn't want to hear him.

Give a man a quiet way to grieve with a shoulder to cry on when the world tells him to toughen up.

Give a man a way to get away from the craziness of life.

Teach a man how to be so strong yet have the ability to control his power.

Allow a man a means to feed his family.

Provide an example of stoicism and what it means to stick with a job until it's done and dig in when life gets hard.

Well, we went out to check the horses that have been out to pasture for the last few months to discover our sweet Foxy has developed a large sacaroid on her abdomen. This large lesion will likely require surgery. At first we though maybe a stray bullet from a hunter had hit her. She could use a to aid in her medical care.

Foxy is our go to for kids. She came from a family that was moving and has helped so many hurt hearts in her life. She can be mean as it gets to adult riders; walking them into trees, refusing to move, even the occasional crow kick but if she has a kid she is the best behaved gal on the farm. Foxy has a forever home.

Thank you Veterans! Your sacrifices are not forgotten and we appreciate every service member of this community. Our program here at Redempton Ride helps injured veterans recover from wartime injuries. In working with our mustangs injured neuropathways are uniquely stimulated to aid in the regrowth. The movement of riding helps with movement of injured limbs. Training horses is more about regulating your emotions than the horse; this aids stress response and builds confidence. Our program has the potential to help 60 veterans and 60 at risk youth a month. Help us reach our goals by sharing and giving us a like. Big things are coming from us!

Check out Spirit, he is a youthful 2 and a half year old Percheron Appolosa Quarter Cross. He will be joining us as long as we can raise the funds to purchase a round pen. The purchase of safe round pen will also give us the opportunity to expand outside our friend group helping more veterans and beginning an at risk youth pilot program

See that blue roan? That's Scout he's our youngest herd member. We've had in in pasture with Old Man Navi, learning how to behave. Scout was gentled by a 4h kid as part of the Devils Garden Challenge. He is stout and strong and starting saddle training this winter. We hope to have him in the trail riding program by spring. ***de

This is the ideal marmot body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

Winter is coming! The tundra-dwelling yellow bellied-marmots have been preparing for hibernation for the last couple of months. Since marmots spend more than half their life hibernating, they have developed amazing adaptations to survive the winter. Some adaptations include:

✅ Building up healthy fat reserves to sustain them for up to 8 months.

✅ Slowing their heartrate from 200 beats a minute to 30, to conserve energy!

✅ Saving on utilities by cuddling up with the colony in one burrow to keep warm!

How do you prepare for winter?
