Humane Society of Harrison County - WV The HSHCWV rescues animals from the County Animal Control Center and prepares them for adoption. There is an album for cats and an album for dogs.

If interested in adopting an animal or need a voucher, please fill out the application at www.hshcwv.org and submit to [email protected] or fax to 304-592-2391, or stop to the left of our front door in the little library and fill one out/leave in the folder. We will contact you to set up an appointment to view animals once we have approved your application. We are open for the public to come in and

look, but without prior application approval you may not be adopting the same day. For volunteers - to set up an appointment call 304-592-1600 or 304-592-2382. To view our animals you can go to petfinder.com or on Facebook look under Photos - then Albums. Thank you for your patience. We are a non-profit and so rely on our supporters generosity. UPDATE! Thank you to Elisha's sons for coming out!

If anyone in Shinnston area would like to come plow our lot a little bit it would be so appreciated! Our staff have been able to scramble in and out, but we did have a work van get stuck.
This doesn't happen often so thankfully we normally don't need to ask.

Well things changed a little with people choosing different pups and one being returned.
So below is who is still available for adoption.

We were told mom is pit/lab mix. Not sure about dad(s). We think there is some herding breed in there as several were merle in color.
They are being updated on vaccines and dewormer. Will be schedule for spay/neuter, rabies , microchip, 4DX test when old enough.
$150 each to adopt.

We would love to see two of our shiest cats be adopted together. Here at the shelter they hide from people - so of course they get overlooked. They are very sweet, and we feel once they get out of the loud busy shelter environment they will be the most loving cats. Maybelle (black/white female) has been here 160 days, and Hendrix (orange boy that we have had since a kitten) has been here 146 days. They have formed a bond being the two in there that get looked over and over. So we will make the adoption fee - for the right home (quiet, no kids, no other dogs, will give them time to adjust) $50. Get a cat that looks as lovingly at you as Gary does. By the way, this dreamboat is available for adoption. 1 year old petite neutered male. He would make a perfect lap cat companion.

Update on Solara - our kitty that had the broken pelvis. She went for her follow up today and everything looks great! She is standing on her own, and can walk (in small guarded steps). Solara has 6 more weeks of crate rest and building up strength. We will post her when she is ready for adoption! And thank you all who donated for her care.
