We have a lot of cats and dogs in our care currently, so we have been going through supplies quickly. If you are able, please consider donating an item or two from the wishlist below to help out the homeless cats and dogs. 🐶🐱

Please do not buy. Throw them away if your dog gets one as a gift. Giving rawhide to a dog is never a good idea.

Many of these so called treats end up with the dog “enjoying” some time in a veterinary surgery over Christmas. The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China.

The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulfide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white “pure” look and remove the rancid smell.

Now comes the pretty festive colors and the glue to form cute shapes. On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.

If that wasn’t bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Siren and Sable!

Siren is a sweet and talkative little feline who loves to play and sing the song of her people. She can be a little shy at first but when she gets to know you she is a cuddle bug.

Sable came to us as a stray and has won over many hearts. He loves to play and is such a handsome boy.

Queen, Rook, Knight and King!

Come meet our little chess set! Rook is getting adopted this week but her siblings are still available and waiting for their forever homes. King was a little camera shy so he didn’t make it into the picture. He is an orange tabby.

Thanks to some of our wonderful volunteers we got to give some of our adoptable animals exposure. Thank you Bella, Sara, Rylie Jo, Jordonna, and Laurie!

Animals who got to go to Tractor Supply with us for their Halloween event were Chevy (Cat in Picture), Halo, Happy, and Flora (Dogs in Picture). Not pictured were three other cats (Siren, Griffin, and Socks)!

Our October 21st spay/neuter clinic for cats is full. Registration is now open for the November 25th clinic. Please follow the link below to register! Please share so we can get those kitties fixed! Let’s not wait until spring when kitten season is in full swing. Shelters are full and cannot keep up with the high demand of people wanting to drop off cats. We easily get 10 plus calls a day asking if we can take more cats in. We just cannot. So if you know of a cat needing fixed and have the means please help us out by spay/neutering that cat. Let’s work together to reduce overpopulation.
