We painted our storefront! It’s been quite a bit of work to get it done, but we’re so happy with how it turned out! We’ll still need to add our sign and a few other small things…

We appreciate every visitor we have, but this one last night was slightly unsuspected! We believe this was, in fact, Bigfoot, however, this one seemed to be somewhat Amish. His stature had a striking resemblance to one of our neighbors, but you can never be sure! Be on the lookout if you are in the Shipshewana area!🚨

Flashback Friday📸 Pardon the video quality, but this is where it all started! This is a hickory log being milled to lumber by the beloved Petersen swing-blade sawmill. This was LaVern’s side hustle/hobby. Our current home store is the room he used as a kiln for the lumber he cut. The sawdust flying everywhere was later shoveled by hand into the old red gravity wagon, which can be seen sitting off to the right side in this video. Many logs were put through this mill, and often the shop would have a strong scent of what we were cutting, whether it was cedar or cottonwood. It was always a fascinating process, since each log was different. This video brought back many memories! We’re sending some blanket baskets down the line today. This is about a half hour of cutting trimmed down to about 30 seconds.
