We take in many of the "throw-away kitties" that would otherwise be euthanized. We provide food, shelter and love and help them to heal physically and emotionally. We work on their social skills in the hope of making them more adoptable. No animal in our care is ever "euthanized" unless deamed medically necessary and it is in the best interest of that animal. We are a SMALL group with BIG hearts a

nd have made a difference in the lives of many animals with the help of our friends, family and TOMMY'S HOUSE FAMILY!

LOOKING BACK A YEAR AGO ❤️❤️

What do you say to a picture like this?? Definitely brings a smile 😊 to your face! ❤️

I have often said that I believe cats come here for a reason and that this is where they are “supposed to be”! 😊

To think that 3 MONTHS AGO……this precious little girls future was looking pretty dim! 🙁 Thanks to “The Magic of Tommy’s House”……she has made a full recovery! ❤️ Now walking and using the litter box on her own! ❤️ She has made herself right at home! ❤️ She has lots of friends……a loving Mom……the support of “The Tommy’s House Family”…….and a safe place to forever call HOME! ❤️

SMOOCHES 💋💋 to handsome senior YODA who has been a big part of her recovery along with all of our other kitties! ❤️

A SMOOCH 💋 to MARY ANN GAMBINO…….who got her out of harms way and searched till she was pointed in our direction! She knew in her heart that this girl could do well if she could find “the right place” and someone willing to “take a chance”! ❤️ She never gave up hope! 😝

And of course a BIG SMOOCH 💋 to ALL OF YOU! ❤️ Because of your continued love & support….kitties like Baby GABRIELLA…..have a place to go and get the help & love that they need & deserve! ❤️

Our new kitty seems to be settling in! ❤️ Finally decided to venture out of the carrier and into a bed! ❤️ Appetite is good! ❤️ Using the litter box! ❤️ Appointment with DR. GEE isn’t till next week but we’re on stand-by in event of a cancellation! ❤️ Can’t help but wonder if this will be another of those “miracle’s” that will just need time & TLC?? Tried to do a “gender check” but this kitty isn’t ready for “the reveal” yet! Lol 😝

An Angel 😇 is off to Heaven 😇
CAROL “got her wings” 😇

CAROL was one of the three BAYPORT SISTERS who arrived just before Christmas….. DECEMBER 2022! 😝 They were cared for as “outdoor” kitties! When one of the two people caring for them passed away…….we were asked to take them in! ❤️ Sister HOLLY arrived first……followed by CAROL…….and finally EVE who arrived CHRISTMAS EVE morning! ❤️ Sadly HOLLY & EVE “got their wings” and now CAROL is reunited with her sisters! ❤️ At least they had some time where they could enjoy the comforts of home and a rather LARGE loving family! ❤️ Safe journey sweet CAROL 😇

Honestly……as far as the rescue is concerned……I can’t recall ever wanting “to quit”! 😉 Sure there have been days that were tougher than others…..but I love what I do! ❤️ I imagine doing this until I’m not physically able to! ❤️ Hopefully…….that a long time from now! ❤️

Great day and I feel pretty good! ❤️ The only thing that would make it better…..is if I get the call tonight that I “won the 50/50 drawing”!! Lol 😆

PART #3……The weather was amazing……especially after all the rain we recently had! Although I enjoy myself every year……this year I laughed a little more than usual! Lol 😝 I know that BOB is so appreciative of the help as he gives me a big hug on arrival and when I leave! ❤️

PART #2…….Although I consider myself a fairly “busy” person……I feel it’s important to help others when they ask! ❤️ Friend & former co-worker…….BOB ZEBROWSKI…..started a non-profit to promote STROKE AWARENESS in honor of his wife! ❤️ We’re all getting older and never know when something like this could happen to us or to someone we know! BOB approached me several years ago about doing blood pressure’s at his event……and I’ve been there ever since! ❤️ It’s a good feeling to be able to provide a service……educate people and just “schmooze”! We have many repeat customers every year! ❤️

There is always a DJ and live bands…..all who DONATE their talents each year! 💋

This year seemed different as I spent time with a young woman named VALERIE! She actually does PR at the Nursing Home where Bob’s wife was for many years! This woman is a “firecracker”! Like me…..she enjoys engaging with people and making them laugh! 😝 There was more laughter than usual as she grabbed people to dance! Lol 😝

Our latest arrival seemed a lot calmer this morning! ❤️ Nothing a good nights sleep and a safe environment can’t bring! ❤️ After all…..we will probably never know what this poor baby endured prior to coming here and it really doesn’t matter! We move “forward” and deal with the current situation…….the injured leg! Could be an old injury that has healed……could require surgery……even possible amputation! 🤔 Regardless if what is ahead……we’ll deal with it! All that really matters is that this kitty is safe and will never have to worry about anything ever again! ❤️

A BIG SMOOCH 💋 to the family who cared enough……to keep reaching out until they found help! ❤️ They have a young daughter who was very concerned about the kitty and where kitty was going?? I promised to send her pictures so she could see the kitty was ok! ❤️ Ahhhhh……compassion at such a young age! ❤️ Such a good sign! ❤️

And of course……a SMOOCH 💋 to our good friend KELLY HAMMER…….who knows I always answer when she calls……but think……”oh boy…..what does she have for me now”?? Lol 😝

GRACE - Day #2

GRACE is doing really well! ❤️ Ate her food……which we had to put her medicine in because we can’t force open her mouth due to the sutures! Has been using the litter box! Peeing only but isn’t on solid foods so that’s not unusual! She just seems so relaxed……so comfortable! You’ve heard the saying “When you see something……say something”! That’s helpful but it’s even better when you DO something! ❤️ Had she been somewhere else…..there’s no telling how long she would have waited for help……if it ever came at all! 😞 Feeding outdoor cats is very admirable…….but that shouldn’t be where it STOPS! You should also provide some sort of shelter and if you see a medical issue……:..ADDRESS IT! 🤬 I can’t tell you how many times Ive have taken in a cat and was told……”They’ve been like this for weeks”!! 🙄 To rescue people……those words are infuriating! 🤬 Fortunately for GRACE…….JOANNA……who is an “independent trapper”……DOES something! ❤️ Well…….now all GRACE has to do it rest and get better! ❤️

Miss WEEBLES visit’s NORBERT

Ever now and then…..I watch this video and it reminds me just how “magical” MISS WEEBLES is! ❤️ One of her biggest fans was unable to come and meet her……so MISS WEEBLES and I made a home visit! ❤️ We also met NORBERT……a senior dog with cancer…..who was actually pulled from a shelter! ❤️ MISS WEEBLES just brings such comfort & joy and you can actually feel it in the room! ❤️ Some say that she was “lucky” that we took her in many years ago…..but it is we who are the lucky ones! ❤️

GABRIELLA 2024

This is an early Mother’s Day gift for two women who were instrumental in getting this baby to safety……..MARY ANN GAMBINO & CHRISTINA GARDNER ❤️ At this time…….A YEAR AGO……GABRIELLA was a 7 MONTH OLD baby who was hit by a car….and left to die in the street! 😡 She was taken to a local Vet who performed surgery on a very badly broken leg! 😞 She also had neurological damage to her tail and bladder which made her unable to urinate on her own! 😳 She was at the Vet about 6 WEEKS but grew increasingly agitated and was not allowing treatment. 😳 We were asked to take her in! Unsure if she would ever use her leg or urinate on her own…..we decided she was worth the chance! ❤️ Within a few weeks…..she showed such improvement! ❤️ Looking at her now….you would never know anything was ever wrong! She does have some residual neurological issues with her tail and bladder…..but nothing compared to her arrival here! She has such a personality and is quite the character! ❤️ I will admit getting a little “weepy” 🥲 putting the video together…..but all happy tears! Just reminds me of the “magic” that happens here every day! ❤️ GABRIELLA went from an orphan in the streets……to a large extended family! ❤️ All this happens because people care……people “do something”! From the women who took her out of the street…..to the emergency Vet……to DR. GEE……to Tommy’s House…..and of course to ALL OF YOU! ❤️ Definitely a “team” effort and you all should feel pretty good! ❤️

MISS WEEBLES….APRIL 2024

This beautiful girl came to us OCTOBER 2018! ❤️ She was about A YEAR OLD! ❤️ As a kitten…..she was able to walk but over time was no longer able to stand or use her back legs! 😞 Despite testing & treatments…..she was unable to ever walk again! 😞 DR. GEE felt it was a congenital condition called EHLERS-DANLOS SYNDROME……which affects the “connective tissue”! Humans get it as well! To date….there is no cure! 😞 Some look at MISS WEEBLES and see a cat with a “disability” and feel sorry for her! 😞 Those who have had the pleasure of meeting her……know that she is so much more! ❤️ She has the “ability” to make you smile…..to make you feel better! ❤️ She has made the best of her circumstances and is such a positive energy to be around! ❤️ There is definitely something “magical” about her and that’s why I refer to her as our “unicorn”! ❤️ But having a “magical creature” here makes perfect sense…..because this is a “magical place”! ❤️ We have taken in many kitties with issues but always look at what they “can” do and what they bring to our rescue! ❤️ Whatever they have been through…….they all want the same things…….to be safe……loved…..cared for…..accepted for who they are and to belong! ❤️ Each has their own personality……and brings their own contribution to our unique little rescue! ❤️ Even though we had no idea what MISS WEEBLES future would be like…….I have never regretted the decision to make her part of our family! ❤️ She is amazing! ❤️

PART #2…….This is STEWIE today……5 MONTHS after his arrival! ❤️ I think his legs definitely appear stronger…..and again…..don’t slow him down! Lol 😝 He was referred to as a “CH kitty” (cerebellar hyperplasia) which is a neurological condition that he most likely acquired from Mom due to a virus! 😞 We love him and he is a happy addition to our family! ❤️

PART #1……..This was STEWIE when he arrived from the Shelter in early NOVEMBER 2023! ❤️ No one wanted him 😞 because of his “wobbly back legs”! This was DAY 1 and you can see…..it doesn’t slow him down! 🥰
