It's that time of the year when we start hearing about ticks found on pets! Don't be fooled- even though the weather is getting cooler, ticks are very active now and can be anytime it is above freezing.

Be sure your pet stays protected year round with a flea & tick preventative such as Nexgard or Frontline, or a 3-in-1 combo product with heartworm protection like Nexgard Plus or Simparica Trio!

Today is National Black Cat Day! Don't have your own black cat? No worries! Purring Hearts Kitten Rescue has you covered.

Meet Kava! She is a 5 month old, spayed female. She has had her initial vaccines and is microchipped.

Historically black cats have been harder to adopt out than other colors, but Dr. Rebecca and Nina agree that they can be the best! Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in adopting, and feel free to share this post to help Kava find her forever home.

It's almost time for Dr. Rebecca's (well deserved) annual vacation!! Dr. Rebecca will be out of the office the week of October 20-24th. Nina and Bonnie will still be monitoring calls and emails during this time.

Please be sure to send your prescription refill requests no later than Wednesday, October 15th if possible.

If your pet needs assistance during this time, please contact your local veterinary ER such as WVRC or urgent care clinic. Thank you 🐾
