Tried out my new online Pilates app. Shelby and Mikey decided to join in on the fun, making it more of a comedy routine than a workout. Managed to squeeze in a few crunches between the chaos, but this flat tummy may take longer than expected

Congratulations to Kris and Koda on passing their Public Access Test yesterday afternoon! Kris has shown incredible dedication to Koda's training, and it's been such a pleasure to work with them and watch their progress. Koda demonstrated all the qualities of a reliable service dog, including an amazing moment where he walked by a freshly cut steak at nose level in Safeway without a second glance! Way to go, Kris and Koda! Keep up the fantastic work!

Pauly is almost 12 and has been dealing with some aches and pains lately. As a result, he's become super sensitive about me trimming his nails. Since he doesn’t join our walks as much anymore, his nails were growing faster than I could keep up with. So, I decided to try a scratch pad!

Now, as Pauly paws for his treats, he files his nails at the same time. Turns out, he's a lefty! So, we'll be working on teaching him to use his right paw too. I’m so excited to be able to keep his nails in check and give him some added mental stimulation.

Took this precious picture last night of my 3-year-old daughter confidently walking Mikey (our Shih Tzu) with a perfect loose leash! When she stops, he stops and waits. No cues needed.

Training isn't just about teaching commands; it's about building trust, understanding, and a strong bond between you and your furry friend. This moment says it all!

It's been a few years since I last posted, and so much has happened in that time—both professionally and personally. In 2019, I earned my CDBC title with the IAABC, a benchmark in the field of canine behavior. I took on my first Expert Witness Case in 2022 and earned my Pet Custody Consultant Certification in 2023. We moved from the Colorado Mountains to the White Mountains of Arizona in 2020, and just weeks after the move, I found out I was pregnant. We welcomed our beautiful daughter Shelby into the world in January 2021.

We have faced some heartache too, losing two of our beloved furry family members to cancer and our sweet Jasmine to old age. This left Pauly as our sole pup, and I quickly realized he needed a new companion. Using my years of experience in the science of dog behavior and adoption counseling wisdom, I developed a 10-step process to find the perfect match, which led us to Mikey, our adorable 3-year-old one-eyed Shih Tzu. 🐾

Mikey's seamless integration inspired me to write a book, Finding Mikey, which is currently in the editing stage, and create a platform called to help others navigate the often daunting path of dog adoption. So, I'm back on social media with a mission: to guide pet guardians-to-be through the world of dog adoption, cutting through the misconceptions and misinformation. My goal is to prepare every pet guardian for a successful journey, which starts months before we actually bring home our furry pals.

After decades of being a passionate dog lover and expert, I'm excited to share my knowledge and insights with all of you. Let’s reconnect and spread the word—if you know anyone considering bringing a dog into their lives, please share this with them.
