Case Snapshot! 📸

Can you ‘spot’ who is in Dr. Kelsey Bailey’s hands? That’s Tuck! 🦎

Tuck is a Leopard gecko who came to us from L.E.A.R.N! 🐍🐸🦂
(Louisiana Exotic Animal Resource Network). She is estimated to be about 2 years old!

Upon exam Tuck was “spotted” with what looked to be a scab above her eye. Further examination revealed a retrobulbar mass and a retained spectacle.

*Retrobulbar Mass: a growth or lesion behind the eyeball, within the eye socket. This can be caused by various conditions.

*Retained Spectacle: (also known as retained eye caps) refers to when the scale like covering over a snake, or some lizard species, eyes does not shed properly. This can lead to cloudiness and can impair vision.

We will keep you updated as this case continues! 💛

But when your pet begins to show more obvious signs of vision loss, it’s natural to feel concerned. A...
