Tabitha is a 7-month-old schneagle (schnauzer/beagle mix) who is ready for her forever home! She is a spunky little girl, weighing in at 28 pounds, who will have you under her spell in no time. She gets along well with dogs and loves being around people. Applications can be completed on our website. A vet reference with a consistent vaccination history is recommended to adopt. Adoption fee $200.

All of our adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on appropriate vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped.

Prince is a 2-year-old shihtzu mix weighing 13 pounds. He is a very social boy and gets along with other dogs and loves people! He will make a great companion to his adopter. Zuri has only been with us a few days, but has already wrapped our volunteers around her little paw. She loves attention and lets you know she is not finished getting pets. Zuri is a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix, medium-sized, and will make a great addition to any family. Stay tuned for updates!

Scout is a 5-year-old Chocolate Lab 💙 She is a bit fluffy, at 60 pounds, and could stand to lose another 5. Scout has mild anxiety and takes meds to help her. She hates thunderstorms and lightning. Scout is a gentle and sweet soul and needs a family to love. She gets along great with other dogs! Applications can be completed on our website. A vet reference, with a consistent vaccination history, is recommended to adopt. Adoption fee $200.

Be careful! This scruffy schneagel (schnauzer/beagle mix) will cast a spell on you and melt your heart! She is only 7 months old and weighs around 30 pounds. We will have more information on her once she goes to our vet for a checkup.

Morgan is a 1 1/2 year old female collie mix, weighing 35 pounds. She has a beautiful, plush coat that makes it hard to keep your hands off her! She is a friendly, playful girl looking for her forever home. Morgan is an all around good girl.

Look at this distinguished little senior gentleman! Elmo is around 13 years old and will be off to our vet for evaluation soon. You would never guess he is this old by how he acts. Thank you Winnie's Way for sponsoring Lois! This sweet girl came to us from animal control. Our vet found and removed cancerous mammary masses which will likely return. She was just placed with a hospice foster.

Our volunteers arrived for the afternoon shift and found that someone had dumped (actually thrown) two dogs into our yard. This is wrong on so many levels! First and foremost, it is illegal to dump on private property. Then, if the dumped dogs are sick, our dogs have been exposed. We take in many unvaccinated dogs and puppies and this puts their lives at risk. Thirdly, they were dumped in the heat of the day, not caring if they had water. Yes, we understand that so many rescues are full, including us. We have a long waiting list, some of which have been waiting for weeks, sometimes months, for a spot to open. When we are full, we have no choice but to take the dogs to animal control. They seem to be sweet dogs (pics in comments). If you can give them a home, please go to Caddo Parish Animal Services. Thank you ❤️

School is out for most, but lessons are continuing at HSNWLA! Thank you to our volunteer Debbie and Diane from Red River Obedience Training for working with our dogs on basic commands.
