🌍🐢 Meet the Sulcata Tortoise! 🐢🌍
The gentle giants of the tortoise world!

✨ Did you know?
• Sulcatas are the 3rd largest tortoise on Earth – some grow over 200 lbs!
• Native to the edge of the Sahara Desert, they survive extreme heat by digging giant burrows that can stretch 30 feet long.
• These guys can live 50–100+ years… so owning one is a lifetime commitment (and then some)!
• Their favorite snacks? 🌱 Grasses, weeds, and leafy greens – no meat, just lots of fiber!
• Despite their slow stride, Sulcatas are surprisingly curious, strong, and stubborn (don’t be surprised if one tries to redecorate your yard 😉).

💡 Fun Fact: Those “spurs” on their legs aren’t weapons—they’re just cool digging tools and used for mating displays!

Let’s talk Iguanas! 🦎

🌿 General Facts
• Iguanas are herbivores, meaning they primarily eat leaves, fruits, and flowers.
• They are excellent climbers and can often be found basking in trees.
• Iguanas can live 10–20 years in captivity with proper care.
• They can grow to over 6 feet long, with most of that being tail!
• Iguanas communicate with head bobs and dewlap displays (the flap of skin under their chin).

🌞 Behavior
• Iguanas are cold-blooded and rely on external heat sources like the sun (or heat lamps in captivity) to regulate their body temperature.
• They are mostly diurnal (active during the day) and love basking for hours.
• Iguanas are quite territorial, especially males during breeding season.

🦎 Physical Abilities
• They have a third “parietal” eye on top of their head. It can’t see images but detects light and movement—helpful for spotting predators.
• Iguanas are strong swimmers and can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes underwater.
• Their long tails can be used as a whip for defense, and they can also drop their tails if grabbed (though it doesn’t grow back the same). The color it dropped, will be the color it grows back!

We have some beautiful black bunny rabbits available for their Furever Homes! 🐰

General Facts✨
•Species variety: There are over 300 breeds of domestic rabbits recognized worldwide.
•Not rodents: Rabbits are lagomorphs, which means they’re more closely related to hares and pikas than to rodents.
•Unique teeth: Their teeth never stop growing—up to 5 inches a year! Chewing hay and wood toys helps keep them worn down.

Behavior✨
•Binky: When rabbits are really happy, they’ll jump, twist, and kick mid-air—this joyful move is called a binky.
•Thumping: Rabbits thump their hind legs as a warning sign if they sense danger.
•Social creatures: They live in groups in the wild and thrive on companionship.

Biology✨
•Lifespan: Domestic rabbits can live 8–12 years with good care.
•Vision: Their eyes are positioned on the sides of their heads, giving them almost 360° vision (but they do have a small blind spot in front of their nose).
•Diggers by nature: In the wild, rabbits live in burrow systems called warrens.
