Having the correct reptile UV lighting, often including UVB light, in your companion’s habitat is extremely important as certain species need UVB to synthesize Vitamin D3 which allows them to properly absorb and metabolize calcium. Different lighting and heating bulbs help create the proper environment as reptiles use external sources to regulate their body temperature, while also promoting overall health. However, while all reptiles require the right temperature, according to their species’ needs in order to remain healthy, nocturnal animals do not have UVB requirements.

Dust baths are used for chinchillas to remove any oil or moisture from their thick fur; this will also help keep their fur soft. You should not bathe a chinchilla in water as this may cause them to lose their fur. A chinchilla's fur is considered the softest in the world: 30 times softer than human hair! Chinchillas also have 50 or more hairs per follicle as opposed to humans, who only have one.

These amazing parrots are highly interactive and enjoy being part of the family, often forming strong bonds with their human companions. Also known as Monk Parakeets, these intelligent birds are well-known for their ability to mimic sounds and their tendency to quickly learn various tricks and commands. We have a variety of colors currently! Blue cross colors with several shades of blue and white, green cross colors, yellow, and grey! They are all locally bred and hand fed!
