What an amazing day! 🎉 We absolutely agree—Sci-Port Discovery Center should host more often! 💕 We’re thrilled to share that a few kittens found their forever homes today, and we received some applications for our dogs. Huge thanks to those kitten adopters! It was great to see the community come together and check out all the wonderful dogs available in the Shreveport-Bossier area. A big shoutout to Hollywood Feed and Robinson's Rescue Low Cost Spay/Neuter for helping us show off Allie and Brindle!

Our kitten bunch is growing up so fast already with their foster! They are officially off of formula and are eating wet kitten food. As you can see they are always messy 😅
We can now confirm that we have two girls and four boys.
💕💕The biggest one of the bunch is Coral, with her almost identical sister named Marina.

💙💙Our first boy, the gray and white kitten, is named Finn. We have two boys that really show the Siamese characteristics and look very similar. Their names are Sebastian and Marlin.
And our final Siamese boy, who is the runt of the litter, is named Kai (Hawaiian for the sea).

We already have one approved adopter for either Sebastian or Marlin. so if you’re interested in any these kittens, please apply early!

Athena is still with us. We’ve learned that she needs to be an only dog or adopted with her Mom Roxy. She really is sweet with other dogs but is extremely loyal to her humans. She doesn’t want to share her human except with Roxy. Her and Roxy would make lovely pets. We know it’s hard to get two adopted together but we truly feels it’s the best for both!

Hi, I'm Roman, a one-year-old male American bulldog mix, tipping the scales at around 130+ pounds. I'm up-to-date on all my vaccines, neutered, and heartworm negative.

I get along well with other dogs, but no one is quite sure how I feel about cats just yet. Because of my size, it's important that kids around me are familiar with large breeds since I can be pretty playful and sometimes forget how big I am.

We have a bittersweet story with a happy ending to share. Teddi was recently surrendered back to us, but fate had a different plan in mind. The very next day, a kind lady came by to drop off donations. She met Teddi, and it was love at first sight! With her experience with Pomeranians, she knew Teddi was the one for her. We’re thrilled to announce that Teddi has found his forever home! Thank you for your generous donations and for giving Teddi the loving home he deserves.

Sometimes, even our most well-behaved pups have a knack for getting into mischief! During our recent Give For Good fundraiser, we promised to put some funds into an emergency reserve—and yesterday, we were so thankful we did.

Here's what happened: our sweet Dhalia was running around the yard, living her best life, when she somehow managed to smack into a shovel and then step on a it. Despite acting like nothing was wrong and being her usual happy self, she ended up needing two layers of stitches at the emergency vet clinic. Now, she's on the mend, though she'll be wearing the "cone of shame" for a little while.

We just wanted to share this story to let you know that your donations truly make a difference. There was a huge sigh of relief knowing we had the funds available to take care of Dhalia unexpected injury. Of course, it would happen on a Saturday afternoon—because when else would it, right? 😅

We have to say, if Allie doesn’t get adopted soon, we might just claim her as our official event dog—she was such a breeze! Allie hung out with everyone who stopped by, got along great with kids and other dogs, didn’t pull on the leash, and rode in the car like a champ. 🚗

We serve the pets of the homeless, Veterans, disabled, and low income. Proof of income or status is required.

Food and supplies are handed out Wednesday 9-12:30 and Friday 9-11:30.

Vaccination days are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 9-11:30. The shots we give are 5-1 for pups and 1-HCPCh shots for kitties. If your pet needs shots and you are homeless, low income, a Veteran, or disabled we can help. Please bring proof of income or status. Please be here early.

Our RABIES CLINIC is the 4th Wednesday of every month unless otherwise posted on our page. The times are from 11-1 but you must be here as early as possible but no later than 12:30.

If you are in need of assistance we are here to help however we do not pay for emergency or wellness Veterinarian visits. We will make a small donation to help.
