These cuties are AVAILABLE!
Marsha (white) and Marcus (brown) are 10-week-old terrier-mixes looking for homes of their own. Both pups are friendly but a little shy, but we think they will open right up once they feel comfortable and safe. Marsha and Marcus are dreaming of thier forever homes where they can play, cuddle, and love on their family!
As with all puppies, these little ones will need lots of patience as they learn the rules of their new homes. If you’re looking for a wonderful family pet, you can’t go wrong with these cuties!

Meet Charlotte, a 6-week-old pup that is full of adorable puppy charm! We’re not sure her exact breed-mix, but we do know that Charlotte is a beauty! This little girl is dreaming of having her very own family to love and snuggle her.We think she’ll make a great companion to any family lucky enough to adopt her.
As with all puppies, Charlotte will need some patience as she learns the rules of her new home, but she seems smart and eager to engage with people.

Dallas is a handsome, 1-year-old pit bull terrier, who was brought to the shelter as a stray. Dallas is happy, friendly boy that loves playing with toys and will take every single belly rub and ear scritch you’ve got! He likes people, especially the ones with treats, and seems friendly with other dogs too. This handsome boy is looking for an active family with a fenced yard where he can run and play!

We had an awesome “Empty the Shelter” event today, and 18 (yes,18--8 dogs and 10 cats!) shelter animals found their forever homes! Thank you to everyone who came to the event and adopted a forever friend, and a big thank you to the BISSELL Pet Foundation and Cathy Bissell for sponsoring this amazing event, and helping our shelter animals find loving homes! Check out the pics below of our happy adopters and their new furry companions!

Update: Iris was ADOPTED!
Iris is AVAILABLE!
Iris is small girl with a big personality! This 33 lbs., 1-year-old terrier-mix seemed defeated when she first arrived to the shelter, but the first time out of her kennel she came right in for a big hug and wouldn’t let go. As soon as Iris realized she was safe, she opened up and showed us what a doll she is! Iris loves to play and she looks so cute when she gets the zoomies in the play yard. And once she’s had her exercise, Iris is all in for cuddling and belly rubs.
The adoption fee is $50 and before Iris leaves the shelter, she will be microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Iris is already spayed so she can leave today!

Sandy is a well-mannered and polite 4-year-old terrier-mix, who came to shelter after her owner passed away. She is very obviously missing her old home and we’d love to see this sweet girl find another family to adore her soon.
Sandy is fully vetted, already trained, and ready to join another family. She is reported to not get along with cats but could join a family that already has dogs. Nyla is a gorgeous, 1-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog-mix! Her beautiful coat combined with her easy-going and friendly personality is sure to make Nyla a wonderful companion. Catahoula Leopard Dogs are known to loyal and affectionate family dogs that are smart and highly trainable; Nyla definitely fits the breed description!
We know her to be dog-friendly and seems to like people of all ages so we think she could fit into any family. Meet-and-greets with the whole family, both 2-legged and 4-legged are always welcome!

"EMPTY THE SHELTER" EVENT AT THE SHELTER!
The BISSELL Pet Foundation is sponsoring a national "Empty the Shelter" adoption event with their rescue partners during December 1st-17th. We are having our own "Empty the Shelter" adoption event sponsored by Bissell TODAY (Saturday, December 14th), from 11AM-2PM. The adoption fee will be reduced from $50 to $25, for that day only, and will include the spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations. If you're ready to give a shelter animal in need a FOREVER home, this would be a great time to adopt! We have so many dogs and cats to choose from, so come check them out! You can also visit caddo.gov to see who will be available!

Josie is a wonderful family dog who is just missing a family! This 3-year-old shepherd-retriever-mix loves to play and is very athletic. Josie knows several commands including sit and stay. 2nd UPDATE: Puppy is on the way to the vet! UPDATE: Puppy has a committed rescue but NEEDS A RIDE TO THE VET ASAP!!! Email [email protected] if you can transport him from the shelter to a vet in Bossier now. URGENT: RESCUE OR FOSTER NEEDED! Update: Puppy has no visible injuries. He can hold his head up but keeps it to one side. He was found alone on the side of the road near Cross Lake. This tiny 4-week-old puppy was picked up late last night as an injured stray. He needs either, a RESCUE to tag and take him to the vet immediately, or a FOSTER who can take him today 12/11 and then bring him back to see our vet tomorrow 12/12 for a better picture of what this baby might need. This handsome boy is almost 50 lbs. so he’ll do best in a home that has some room for him to run and play. Rasco is AVAILABLE! Rasco is a 6-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog that was surrendered, along with his housemate Harley-A0051524721, due to no fault of their own. Rasco is not terribly interested in toys, will take a treat if offered, but what he really goes crazy for is pets, hugs, and scritches. Rasco has been giving some sad howls, we know he misses having a family. He really just wants a bed and someone around he could fulfill his daily requirements for snuggling.
