UPDATE, THEY ARE CALLING TO HAVE IT OPENED NOW, NOON.
We're hearing the riverfront dog park gates are locked. They shouldn't be, we have messaged the director of SPAR and are waiting for a reply. Let us know if it is still locked. The Southern Hills Dog Park is always open, 1002 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport LA 71118.

Robinson’s Rescue will be at Caddo Parish Animal Shelter tomorrow, August 13th, from 10 AM-12 PM to assist Caddo Parish residents with paperwork for our SSNIP Voucher Program. Please bring your ID and a copy of your financial information for us to keep!

Your pups aren't the only ones getting exercise at the dog park. Make good use of your time there. Walk the quarter mile sidewalk at the riverfront dog park or make up your own fun...hula hooping anyone? Take advantage of the cooler temps this weekend! Enjoy!

Keep them inside during fireworks. We lose too many animals around this time. Do whatever you need to do to keep our animal families safe!

Last Sunday Nattie and her buddy volunteered to water our azaleas in what is to be our memorial garden in the Southern Hills Dog Park. Can you help us keep them alive by doing the same when you visit? There's shade out there!!!! Thanks Nattie and owner.

Gonna get hot out there, good thing there is lots of water in the riverfront dog park...but the hose isn't working right now. You can use the one by the round green cistern on the outside sidewalk. Too bad our little wooden bridge to stand on floated away.

UPDATE: The large side of the riverfront dog park is OPEN, the small dog side is too wet. The gates to the road are open now too.

Here we go again, high water warning. The city HAS closed the dog park. This is the craziest rainy season we've had in a long time, since 2018, I believe. We are encouraging everyone to go to the Southern Hills Dog Park, it's a wonderful change the dogs will love. 2 miles west of I-49 from the Bert Kouns exit. It's the first thing you'll see when you go in the Southern Hills Community Park, across the parking lot from the pool and building.

UPDATE: THE GATES ARE OPEN AT THE RIVERFRONT DOG PARK, BYOT (bring your own towel). The riverfront dog park will be under water for a few days. Mother Nature is up to no good lately. It's time to visit the Southern Hills Community Park's dog park, it's across the parking lot from the pool that just opened. You'll love it too!
