Ya know, in the last 4 years or so, I've noticed so much drama and confusion on fb concerning animals. It's so different than it used to be. I see people bashing. I see people running and picking up animals and then blaming everyone else for not paying for their care. I see people giving up animals right and left over the most ridiculous excuses. I see people say, just get it on transport, seriously, do you realize how difficult that is? Yeah, that's alot of the reason, I don't see alot anymore because I choose to not look and keep my somewhat sanity.
This morning, I videoed Oakley. She reaffirmed my love of what I do. Yep it is heartbreaking, exhausting, expensive (yeah, alot of my personal money goes to these babies) but ya know in these videos I hope you can feel my heart and understand how this feels.
Oakley was a dog surrendered to CPAS. She sat there, absolutely petrified for weeks. She was adopted out to someone who knew nothing about working with a scared, fearful dog. She was then labeled "aggressive" because she was growling. I picked her up from the adopter and Lord, it has been a long road. I finally found out that after a year of being with her family that surrendered her, that their reason was she was fearful. Seriously
Three months ago, Oakley would not go outside, she would not come, she was so scared if you touched her. She is learning. She still has a ways to go and will always be a skittish dog but that doesn't matter, she is a complete sweetheart.
This right here renews my heart. Adoptions are down, Oakley is learning. Money is tight, Oakley is thriving. It always works out in the end. This is what I love and this is why I do it.

MR. MURDOCK
This is the German Shepherd who someone reported shot to Caddo. The vet examined him and they are going to try to go in and remove the bullet hopefully, this will cause less trauma to his leg. He is hw positive and will also need to be treated before he can go up north. He is extremely dog and people friendly.
Now this is what he needs. He needs a foster where he can recover. He is in pain so he is at the vet on pain meds and will have surgery tomorrow (Monday) He will also be neutered.
Also, for the time being, he is available to be adopted locally. Once transport is scheduled, he will not longer be available.
