It was a hard, hard week both personally and for my work family through the years. You see, Ms. Peggy helped me write my business plan for The Canine Cabana over 17 years ago. She helped me OPEN my business. After all the leaps & hurdles, she was one of my first customers!! She had four dogs at the time….Jojo, April, Duke & Fancy….and they visited me a BUNCH!! ! I loved on ALL 4 of them through the years and she & I then created a beautiful friendship!!! I even made them a sign YEARS ago that hangs proudly in my office! She is FAMILY! (Mom & Doc have the last two of Peggy’s horses).

Fancy was her only baby left and they truly depended on each other. We all had to make the VERY difficult decision to send Fancy over the bridge to be with her siblings! She had to have been 17+ years old and was just the sweetest.

I planned everything for her to be put down at her home, with her mommy. Ms.Peggy asked me to be there with her. I brought two cheeseburgers for Fancy and I didn’t leave their sides. I cried like a baby. Like always. It NEVER gets easier. Please please pray for Peggy as she is a HUGE animal lover and has not been without a dog/horse/cat/etc in her adult life until now.

The awkward silence is going to be deafening.

Rest in Peace, “Fancy Pants”! I will make sure your mama is well taken care of. 🫶🏼
